I know how you feel Shrimp. We learn from experience as to who is making actual high end products and who isn't through loss. I now know who to stay away from when purchasing my hardware. Painful lessons learned here.

I hear you on that... Soooo many of my LGA 775 submissions were done on an Asus P5E that had a modified Rampage Formula bios in it... Somehow that board has survived several dozen torturous sessions, although the voltage droop has gotten worse over time, and it REALLY doesn't like trying to boot with 2V on the core... Or any higher than 2.4V for memory, if I remember correctly.

I had a plan about another round this night but it's much warmer than yesterday so my "little" xeon will be left untouched. Never seen a 775/771 quad like this. It has a vcore scaling that can't be true. Better than my best wolfdale. I had to push a bit voltage above 4.8 because the high temperature. Passed easily above 80, The level how the cores are working similar is also wonderful. I like this cpu however I thought it will be a usual high tdp X type with zero joy. I was buying it because it was so cheap.

Jesus Alpi benching on the floor my old knees wouldnt handle that. Mines wouldnt too. :/ I can left the world behind sometimes when benching, I'm nearly can't stand up. In the other hand, Your stuff is much happier when feeling You close to it. Ps.: knee donors are welcomed xD

I'm lucky to have a place I don't have to worry about all that. Take care of that one Alpi - It will score you points as long as it's healthy.

I made a run @ 4930, it stopped at 95%. Wouldn't need big changes for a succesful second try but I didn't want to push harder.

that's amazing alpi, just amazing..
I'm installing the OS (trying too, this AMD 790FX board won't boot from a USB). but with some zip-ties and a touch of ingenuity, I got the water block on this board...
hope it goes..

This is the best I can do for now. I've never pushed this RAM and I am happy with my quick result so far. I'd like to try pushing it further...
as for this CPU, after this, I tried pulling the multi back and clock up the FSB, but it seems this mobo doesn't want to go over 275mhz on boot, and this mobo isn't supported on SetFSB (RTM880M-793 Mem Controller).
Vinster / 1090T @ 4389 Mhz (only 4 core active) / 790FXTA-UD5 / A-Data 2000 Extreme / 270.547 Sec
Vin
EDIT: I was able to get a better FSB by bringing down my multi, but couldn't improve on the score. This CPU seems to scale well with lower temps. it had less of a hard time if I took a longer break and let the water get below 10 Deg C. Oh, and for the volts... no liquid courage yet... getting one now...

I figured dirty knees was for something unmentionable. Never mind that.... 6 hours remaining. You mean like being a delivery driver? My old boss always joked about how I had knees a coal miner would have... One of the sales guys made the sexual jokes, lol As for benching o nthe floor, I did it ages ago but now I have a nice dedicated space and it's so much better to be able to actually have a coffee and snacks nearby...

@vin, oh less than a freaking second you beat me by? And had to make the switch to an AMD processor to do it?! Haha good runs Vin!

Looking for missed scores, I saw this Shane. That's puzzling. WPrime will read the clocks the board posted with, so I can only guess the Cpu-z is reading the software overclocks correctly. But the low score, well I can only think that chip/board/VRM are thermal throttling on you. But with limited information, I have no idea what's going on there. I'm just guessing.

Congrats to all, I didn't know if someone else had an entry to drop at the last moment but did what I had to do. Did this run last weekend while I had time to dedicate to the comp and really had to work for it.... Repeatedly. Thanks to Shrimpy for putting on the comp, well done and good job of making it happen.

What a blast. This comp shows exactly the true power Warp9 holds as a team.
If you can't beat us, you join us. Here. where it's relaxed and fun. Plus instead of 2.5pts, you can get a piece of hardware. Even if it's just an extra HDMI cord lol.

Thanks - I wasn't kidding when I said I had to work for it. I spent about 5 hours tweaking, trying different voltages, settings, trying different multipliers and all else to zero in on what this system could do. If it wasn't for the third core dragging it would have ran even faster but it got the job done in the end anyway.
