ok so aida64 uses 4.8ghz too but gaming and cinebench run at 5ghz so not sure what to do really lol LMAO just run with it OBV it is some kind of bug if it runs 5ghz gaming and CB try wprime or superpi and see what happens

Superpi only uses one thread not any good for stability testing.

yea then I would use wprime you can set the threads I didnt think about that with superpi

i am not sure it is a bug because when I looked at a overclocking guide for my motherboard made by gigabyte there was a section of hitting 5ghz, it says if you fail use the atx setting as it helps with stability because p95 uses atx...?

if you dont listen to pete then you're a fool, and the other most experienced people on here, i ll tell you the 3 ways most likely for that to happen, your board will die , your cpu, or ram or all of the above , if you don beleive well ok, the losses you will suffer in the future will make you beleive, mainly why is coz of the pocket, dont worry the ego and the urge to do gets belted in the arse overclocking your daily too hard mate , your're going for disaster , and it will happen if you keep it up

yeah i get that, i didn't realise i was overclocking that hard...? jase, honestly man, itll kill ya daily, IF you go too hard, not tryin t be hard with you, ask anyone here about your daily, mine is a asrock 890fx deluxe 3, with a 980 BE , @ 4 gig with 4 gig of 1600 mhz mem, not overclocked mem, and does it all day every day solid, i dont play games, some do, i used to have an asrock 970 pro 3 with a fx4130 @ 5 gig all day every day in the same rig but changed it to this to oclock the fx4130, on the crosshair v-z i put it in , so my point is , as others will tell you, dont oc your daily, when it dies you die with it, and keep your daily safe hwbot.org/submission/3013562_ozzie_cpu_frequency_fx_4130_5445.13_mhz

i wasnt planning on anything crazy just heard these chips are amazing at 5ghz i don't wanna go over 1.35v at the maximum, seems pretty good where she is now. thanks for your advice.

Turn off speedstep and anything else that relates to throttling on the same page it wont drop back in speed then.

i will do buddy don't wanna kill anything ive been the expert in killing stuff in the past, i learnt the hard way , like we all have, its a bad and very costly habit to get into

Dont worry you wont kill that doing what you are doing I run my 6700k at 5Ghz 1.48v since they came out and its still going strong I have had it over 6Ghz on nitrogen too. I will buy a 7700k in April probably hopefully I will get a good one.

so as long as i stay under 1.4v and 90c i will be ok..? do you know much about this avx settings..? seems to run everyting at 5ghz except stress testing which runs at 4.8ghz

Find these settings in your Bios and disable them you can leave CPU thermal monitor enabled if you are worried. It should stay at 5 Ghz then. Its from a Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 they haven't got your board up on there downloads yet Gigabyte is a bit slow this time around. Your board should have the same settings in the bios.

i have all them settings off, the only reason it runs at 4.8ghz while stress testing is because p95 uses avx so setting the avx to 2 makes it run at 4.8 instead of 5ghz but i'm not understanding why lol.
so you say don't push your daily too much because it will degrade the chip, but how fast does it degrade..? i'll prob upgrade to a i7 in 6 months haha

ah ok, and whats your opinions on delidding..? is it easy..? worth it..? 10-20c difference if you do if you use the tool it should be super easy I linked a video on it I wouldnt use the liquid metal TIM like he did I would use something none conductive like MX-2 or MX-4 plus like I said before its got a 8 year no dry out thing going for it

i'll prob upgrade to a i7 in 6 months haha I've pushed a few daily chips too hard when benching and then when trying to run the original overclock again after benching I couldn't, that's what I mean by degrading. also what Shady noted. for 24/7 running you won't see enough difference to push the CPU that hard. but it's always nice to see what a new chip can do. mine hits around 60c while gaming and that is a CPU intense game you dont really wanna go too much more over that also if you arent benching it you can always turn on C1E and it will speed step your CPU down to a lower clock and voltage when you arent using it under load that also saves on life of a daily used PC I normally run 4.5ghz at 1.25v with all that shit on and it drops to 1.2ghz when not under load saves the CPU and heat on it also it got set on 4.6ghz when I was benching a few weeks back and I never turned it back down lmao

I'd take that CLR cleaner pour some in the rad and let it sit it will break up any bs built up in it make sure to let it sit for a few then rinse it out real good

If You find a good looking Kaby, delidding it it's a must. Intel find the "Ivy-paste" again. Unacceptable.....
