You wont need that with Dryice and its not to stop getting ice and shit on the back of the mobo its to keep the ram slots and VRM from freezing up. Mosfets and Solid caps dont like being frozen too much. My P5Q3 Deluxe Wifi suffers from frozen cap syndrome it starts off great but after an hour or so it becomes unstable and I loose a couple of hundred Mhz from what it can do at the beginning. oh he told me it helps keep ice off the mobo too I talk to him on facebook all the time I thought it might be worth the $100 he said it works with dry ice ln2 and Liquid helium cause I plan straight out asked him if it kept condensation off the back of the board and shit and he said yes lol he also told me the same thing you did about the caps and mosfets he said he you keep them warm they last longer and dont die as quick

Dryice only goes down to -60 and under load you wont keep it at -60 there is no need to put a heater under the board to suck more of the cold away just use some vaso and a closed cell foam pad under the board. Of course with nitrogen its a bit different especially when you are going down to or below -120 it would be great for that, solid caps and mosfets tend not to like really cold temperatures. SF3D have been selling a heating element that goes on top of the board around the pot for a couple of years. www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-sf3d-inflection-point-evoHere is the Kingpin unit Vin. kingpincooling.com/products/kpc-inferno-heater-plate-kit

That's a neat gadget. doesnt support the new AM4 from the looks of it. but I'm with you on the DICE perspective. Insulate the bottom of the board properly and you don't need this. Vin

Its looking real good Eddie I am interested to see how the 4 core 8 thread goes against Kabylake they have have better IPC than the big intel chips and they clock well.

Not only good but awesome ! I'm so happy, a dream come true ! Amd is back ! It seems the performance is very close to Intel however the support and even the boards (and bioses I think) are in very early status. Can't stand waiting the 4 core types !

Not so bad in this early stage I think. It's even cheaper than Intel big bombers. I've just read that it's struggling because of hpet. cores don't boost to maximum often that's why it produce a bit lower fpses in game tests. We will see soon how much this "core loss" is.

No. Gamers need clockspeed over core count greater than 4. Workstation builds will get most of the sales.

I said before with some microcode updates all that will be good and fine and yes games what clock speed over core count that is why the 6700k-7700k usually beats the breaks off the 6 core i7s in gaming

It games as well as Haswell. In some cases Haswell does better than more current gen chips.
I'm waiting this out after watching and seeing some numbers. Prices are high now on the chips. 16 threads sounds great, but I don't generally use more than the quad core I run now. But it does get maxed out, and for the core count vs ZEN is NOT as power efficient as ZEN.
Still Staring at that 1700 non X chip. It needs to come down a little in price. I'm cheap.

so the verdict is in looks like the 1800x max OC gonna be 3.9-4ghz avg on high end air coolers and water and they run hot as fuck too der8auer could only get 3.9ghz outta his and it was getting hot as hell hardware canuks got 4.1ghz outta theirs but were hitting 77c 80c is max 90 is shutdown der8auer was hitting that and it was shutting down in his video so it looks like Ryzen is gonna be good but heat is gonna be a serious issue oh they all needed 1.4v to get those speeds www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/74814-amd-ryzen-7-1800x-performance-review-19.html

1800X turbo's at 4.0 ......so IMO, verdict is still out until board bugs are sorted out. Silicon lottery still prevalent too. 4.0 should be a gimme at stock voltage. 5.8 on LN2 is looking better though.

Standing with my statement. It was released less than a week ago. There will be teething pains on a brand new arch. Give it a chance. Intel people are very quick to write this arch off. Worst fanboys I've ever seen, next to Apple fanboys.

Give it a chance. the issue is the heat you cant go no higher because of heat issues unless you got crazy cooling those that got 4.1ghz stable were still near 80c max temp 90c it shuts off I never said nothing bad about the CPU its still a good CPU even at those speeds it is keeping up with a $1000 intel CPU

I wasn't calling you a fanboy bro. Some of the other forums are rampant with them. Just kinda sick of the AMD bashing on them.
Heat is relevant to cooling. I've seen screenshots better than 4.1 with decent air cooling (D14 and 15) with P95 running at under 60c. You're not going to see anywhere near that on a stock cooler.

I keep telling folks, wait til they get this thing tuned in. This is all new stuff. When board manufacturers get there boards tuned in for better ram speeds and all the new coolers are out and adapters to fit many of the current high performance AIOs this is gonna be decent. But it's gonna take some time. I may not buy, but boy you better believe I'll be watching. This is exciting for AMD. I think a year or so for everything to fall into place. They've still got more stuff coming out.
