dunno either that is a big ass price hike for just a little bit more frequency there has to be a catch watch it be PCIe lanes or some crap like intel IMO all the dang top lvl CPUs should have at least 40 lanes but since nvidia is doing away with 3-4way sli in gaming having 40 would be fine or at least 36 16x for both GPU and 4x left over for a M.2

I'm running two r9-290x's, I'd hope either of those two CPU's I'm interested in could handle both of those GPU's... if they can't I'd scream "WHY? ?" lol Vin

LOL Im sure AMD wont take crossfire hell they are the ones that can run on 4x PCIe Nvidia you need at least 8x PCIe lanes or it wont run SLI kinda stupid but that is why AMD still has 3-4 way crossfire

I would be looking at the full specs when they are released Vin there has to be more of a reason why the 1800x is 25% dearer then just for 200Mhz.

Oh these gosh darn prices. I'm aiming for that 6/12 R5 1600X. And will purchase the Ryzen 3 1100 for a de-lid. Banking the higher end chips ARE soldered, but at 65w, there should be no real need for it unless AMD just doesn't want people modifying their processors to help prevent fraudulent returns. The R7 1700 (non-X) looks appealing. Price isn't horrible.... ALL Ryzen chips are unlocked so.... In theory, they should all clock about the same. 4ghz should be no problem? the price from Fry's on the 1700x was leaked its $389 as on the list so these prices are prob what we are gonna see someone showed a CPU-Z bench but that thing is bench is weak but it showed in multi thread it beat a 6850k but like I have said before I wanna see one from out in the wild not one that was hand picked and shit I like retail models that is how you know what you are prob gonna get

Yep Shadyreaper. I am waiting to see some "real" numbers myself. Initial release the motherboards will be on a stock bios also. So waiting it out a few months before purchase would be a wise thing to do.
Not interested in "beating" Intel with anything. Just want a solid performing chip and looking forward to that 40% IPC gains per core. We shall soon see!

I've had multiple FX processors. Totally fun to get into extreme cooling and joining the 6 and 7ghz club. Not the greatest for todays computing, but at release time, not horrible and had plenty of threads (8).
This time double the thread count with a stronger per core compute is appealing. Give it a year, prices will come down.

Thought Ryzen wasn't supposed to run on anything but W10, let alone be identified correctly on W8.

Thought Ryzen wasn't supposed to run on anything but W10, let alone be identified correctly on W8. Amd mightnt be going to support anything but W10 but I bet it will be able to run 7 and 8 Operating systems I would say chipset drivers are similar. In fact someone will probably come up with an XP install for SPI like they have for Skylake. I am really interested to see how it goes in the wild from what I have heard its good.

I wont be an early adopter but I will get one in time. I bought a Strix RX480 last week and a 7700k this week so funds are low for a while. I will have to get around to playing with these Kaby's all in good time.

Are those top 8/16 chips really 140w? Thought AMD was releasing only 95w parts and lower. They are it seems, the 140W above with the coolers is the coolers rated capacity, not the CPU's. But it seems those coolers were debunked so I wouldn't pay any attention to them. Also the FireStike bench in the link is from the future with a 2017-2-25 date? Granted someone could just change the clock. But why? To me these benches just add to the speculation of what it could be. Bringing me more memories of the BD release. I can't wait to see user created benchmark scores. Not this possibly photoshopped marketing ploy. But this is just my option. Vin

that is what I wanna see also cause right now they got the 1700x competing with the damn 6900k/5960x that is just crazy at that rate the 1800x will be as good if not better then a 6950x at a 1/3 the price kinda sketchy if you ask me
