Hey W9! Over at OCN we are about to start up a bench competition based around the classic GTX260. It will consist of 4 stages split between 2d and 3d. I have been working super hard for the last 6 months trying to pull in sponsors and I am happy to say we have over $2300 in prizes (which a good majority of are lucky draw participation prizes). I will have more info for you in the next few week/s. I really like this forum and the members here, so I would love to see you guys get involved. I am offering up a freebie 260 to someone via random draw. I encourage you to enter the freebie for a chance to win a nice card...for the price of shipping. I put some limitations in there regarding OCN member account but dont worry if you dont meed the requirements. I will personally override my own rules for anyone established here. Here is the freebie thread, GO GO GO www.overclock.net/forum/326-freebies/1668937-freebie-gtx260-216-a.html#post26914305Edit: COMP thread www.overclock.net/forum/410-benchmarking-competitions/1675577-freezer-burn-overclocking-competition.html

Nice pics Dave has put up of his mods to the card the pic where the vmod is attached next to the controller take note of the extra caps that he has piggybacked onto the original caps for OCP that is what he is really showing there. What size caps are they Dave 10nf? The usual way shown with 8800GTX is to piggyback 1.2k resisitors.

Nice to see that competition finally starting to have more things show for it. That change in management at OCN sure screwed up a lot of things. Also glad to see the giveaway!

Ah a change in management I knew the forum was all changed. There's a long drama-llama filled thread about it (actually, two or three now I suspect), but short version is Wikia sold OCN to VerticalScope, a Canadian marketing company that has a terrible track record for security (two massive breaches in the past two years). Supposedly, forums were forcibly swapped from Huddler to VBulletin because of Wikia, but they're running an old fork of their own variant of VBulletin instead of a much more current version. A lot of people are unhappy about the forced social media tracking (there is about 50% more scripts running in the background, several of them Facebook, Google, and Twitter)), and mobile users were reporting for the first month they were getting full on browser hijackers. No idea if they are anymore, as I'm on there maybe once a week and with at least two ad and script blockers running, even though I have an Overclocked account. The changeover (and the fact half the things are still broken, or missing) sure made it easier to have free time for a bunch of other things though, since I'm not spending anywhere near as much time on forums ^_^ As for getting back on topic, I'm quite happy to see its gone from "backburnered due to management change" to "we should be rolling with this soon!"

Hope they get it right quicker than HWBot is. Haven't been on there for a while... Guessing it's even worse than some of the levels on ClusterTruck? (not that I've played that game, but if you want to see a game that involves a lot of messes and crashes....)

Yea guys, unfortunately its still pretty bad at OCN, the site is so messed up and broken still. However, as some of you know its my team and im sticking to it, regardless of the condition of the website. The bench community is not really effected since we spend all of our time on Skype or other chat media anyway. Ok, anyway, we can talk drama for ages and its utterly boring, but I did have a reason to come here today. I am looking for some help The comp is going to start Apr 1st but I want to make sure GPUPI-1B is working correctly before starting. Myself and one or two others have tested it but we really need a bigger sample size if possible. Would anyone here help me by just running it and making sure it works? The reason I ask is because GPUPI has never worked with GTX200 series cards before very recently so compatibility is not really well known. If you want to help just run GPUPI 1B with a GTX260 and report back if you get a score, that's it. You MUST get the legacy version of 3.2 here: www.overclockers.at/news/gpupi-international-support-thread OS Setup: New W7 64 install + Newest GPU driver, that's it! There may be problems with older GPU drivers, make sure your bench window looks like mine. Old versions of GPUPI required lots of supplemental software, but this one is pretty self contained. Here are some sample pics I have prepared for the comp to show people how to run it: Most of the comp wallpaper is hidden, but you get a sneak peek, I am pretty excited about it.

I'll give it a shot today if possible.
EDIT: Getting errors when I try to do a run but believe it's a driver issue, checked for and got the version you have shown in the screenie - Will load them up and give it another shot later.

Awesome guys, I really appreciate the help!! I just want to make sure it will work for a for people before making things official. I think any of the GTX200 series cards will be the same for this purpose.

So far it's still a no-go but I believe I've narrowed it down to board drivers. Could be I'd need to do a fresh OS install to make it work and can do that to see but it won't be today, too much going on.

Ok I tried with a GTX260-192 with GPUPI 3.2 Legacy it fails as soon as it starts. With GPUPI 2.3.4 it starts OK but fails after the second iteration with a message "not enough resourses for launch" its funny as its done the first 2 iterations. I will download 3.2 Legacy again tomorrow in case I have got a bad download.

Mine acts like it's having a problem identifying what it's running with 2.34 legacy, errors out after iteration 4 is done.
I believe a fresh OS install could fix my issues but I did discover how it's setup to run affects it too - Batch size and reduction used makes a difference in how far it gets before crashing so it could be the card itself doesn't have enough resources once it's off and running. I don't know but if Miller did get it to complete a run then it should be doable with a guide on how to set it up, what add-on programs to use and such.
Once difference I've noted is HPET with my setup is active and I've yet to disable it, Miller's pic shows it not active.... Hmmmm.
