Driven both of those back in the days, EU versions, they were light, not so much safety built in as in modern cars.

Can't wait to see how many "Light up" after Hurricane Idalia passes in Florida.
Give it about a week (If that long) and the EV B-B-Q will be on.

I love and hate the stupidity humanity has created..
Electric cars if not from a clean power source is a scam... but really even then, it's still a scam because the cost and resources needed to make one is still beyond what a typical gas does.

Well it doesn't matter if we cut carbon emissions, cause we dump 75% of what's burned in thermal emissions, setting aside the carbon. The globe will forever warm, because we heat it. Nuclear burns clean, little carbon emissions. Let's say 10,000 btu an hour. Maybe an electric car is around 3,000 btu an hour. The Human body!!! Say 300 btu an hour. Times 7.5 trillion. Air conditioner. Say average is 14,000 btu an hour in your home Now automotive gas engine. All the moving parts make heat. So any btu average add more. What is the amount of BTU to power a sky scraper? Hot water, AC, heat. Electric motor. Tesla 1092 btu per fucking mile. Thermals. BTU. It's dumped all the time, doesn't matter how it's powered. Carbon. One small piece to warming the planet. But that's all it seems to boil down to. How we make those thermals I guess. 70% of Illinois runs on coal power plants. Yeah, let's all get electric cars. You forgot all the lazy folks leaving stuff on 24/7 π

Here we go again. I am laughing my ass off.
They never learn do they? Dead batteries everywhere...... And nowhere to charge them. And if it's not the batteries going dead or chargers themselves not working because of the cold, it's the power outages you know happens with weather like this.

Bones : They are being told to keep the cars in their garages at home as much as possible to keep them warm and charging. Mmmmm, then they overheat while trying to charge up the batteries and they catch on fire and destroy the home. And you can't put the damned things out when they do "Pop". There is just no winning with these things. Car rental facilities are getting rid of them. No one wants to rent them either. What a fiasco these things have turned out to be. I love my Plain Jane 1993 Buick Century Special. By the time those idiots get enough charge in one of those I can be a hundred miles away and still tooling along. I can fill up in 3-5 minutes and drive cross country if I so desire. Let's see a Tesla try to keep up with me in my 30 year old ICE car.............in any weather. And I can tool around in my car on the same set of tires. They can't make it even 5000 miles on there tires before they burn them up. Not that they can even drive 5000 miles straight.

And yet the "Push" for them will continue inspite of it all.
That's when you know some dumbasses are behind it..... Or those that just don't give a damn or are even looking to purposely cause chaos for US, as in the country.
No amount of stupid can be of that magnitude without some of them being perfectly aware of what they are doing and why.
