Hey W9!
We are starting a new Freezer' Burn competition at OCN. Unlike last time, nobody had advanced knowledge of the GPU. I thought I would pop in here and invite you to join us! You guys did amazing last time and ended up taking hope more prizes than OCN people. So please, go dig out your HD5000 series GPU's and join us.
Here is the comp thread. I just posted it a few minutes ago and the comp doesn't open until Dec 1, so we are still shaking down the rules and such. www.overclock.net/forum/410-benchmarking-competitions/1714364-ocn-freezer-burn-overclocking-competition.html#post27731970
For each benchmark you wish to compete in, you will be required to submit a screenshot and a picture of the computer running the benchmark. Only screenshots with the valid competition wallpaper will be accepted.
As mentioned above, the 2D section of this competition is going to be a little different, we are allowing ALL CPU’s. To make multi-threaded benchmarks like Cinebench R15 fair for everyone involved, the score will be divided by the core count. After evaluating many of the top scores on Hwbot, we determined that Intel 2,4,6,8 cores are the best when dividing by core, but the margin is pretty tight. There is no particular CPU we have seen which has an unfair advantage.
There will be 4 benchmarks in each category but only your top 3 will be scored. We encourage you to participate in all 4 stages. However, we wanted to add the option of dropping one score in case you have difficulties getting a score or there are other problems. It’s in your best interest to submit to all 4 stages. The benchmarks for this competition are as follows:
Official Competition Wallpaper: Will be attached on Dec 1
Cinebench R15 (CPU Benchmark)

No version requirement, newest is suggested
Hwbot rules apply: LINK
Required for screenshot: Non-obstructed rendered image, entre benchmark window, CPUz Tabs (CPU, Memory, MB)
No GPU restriction
Score: The score will be your resulting Cinebench R15 score divided by the core count of the CPU.

Benchmark rules outlined above apply
All AMD and Intel CPU’s are allowed
Engineering Sample (ES) CPU’s are allowed, however, all participants making submissions with ES CPU’s will be exempt from prizes
The CPU frequency is limited to 5003MHz
Allowed GPU’s: HD5870, HD5850, HD5830, HD5770, HD5670, HD5610, HD5570, HD5550, HD5450
Any component of your system must not fall below +15 degrees C
Hwmonitor software will be required for all screenshots
We require that you keep hwmonitor software open during the bench and that we clearly see the expected rise and fall of system component temps
