Jesus I killed a FX57 and blew the mosfets on a Ultra D at 1.75 you might remember me putting mosfets on the Ultra D Scotty. It was a long time ago.

Freaking me out man.
Had the 4200+ over 1.9v. Chip didn't want to go, so I gave up on it. was tempted to push 2v, but didn't think it would amount to anything. Glad I did not.
Stop breaking the 939 gear guys. Makes me cry reading that shit

Was getting setup to make a sub for antinomy's comp, hadn't used the WC for a while put an Intel block on, ran it for about 10 minutes just hanging on the tubing, no leaks. Put an Asus P5WDG2 Pro and a celey on the bench mounted the water block, updated BIOS, everything running until it shuts down. Got up and checked the board, block decided to leak when it was moved into position, killed the board, DEAD. More or less lost interest been gaming for the last couple weeks. Got another Pro to test, changed the clamps on the block, no leaks after about 30 minutes and in position!

Sorry to hear that interesting board. Board is not that bad; ML's Intel board seems to run out better. Best on the default multi was 60.8+ in PiFast at 3.6. played for about 4 hours. Pushing a bit seems to do all right but the CPU in use wasn't all that great need to bin a few. Although unless the 975 chipset is needed in a comp board just going to gather dust in the closet.

For Prescotts Commando should suck compared to 975X. Asus P965 boards (and P35) have much higher latency than 975 and this is key to performance. You can compare boards with different timings using Pifast and AIDA memory subtest and let me know.
Brad, the point was about not needing any advanced cooling. You should be fine with stock on CPU. Only NB might gain from cooling. Sorry to hear about the board being killed.

Random buy via net? (ex. user mining killied it perhaps) Or did you try BIOS OC it up, nvm, just curious. From my past experience, playing with GPU's, overheat kills them efficiently. CPU's can take much more, but I am not into that atm(airflow, airflow)

Striker II NSE. Received 30 min ago, booted to Bios just fine, beautiful physical condition, looks great. Come to find the SB heatsink is practically glued on. I heated it up multiple times, but eventually got frustrated and pulled with heat. It is not a lesson I will soon forget. i.imgur.com/5ZJRQ3g.jpegDidn't even get to play with it. Shit.

Its happened to all of us before some of the Asus X48 NB heatsinks are like that glued on really hard to get off.

Yay, get to join this thread. Hate it though.
GTX 980 KPE is on its last legs.
3DMark vantage, it won't complete even with an underclock. Benchmark just closes. Noticeable artifacts at defaults. Got the last few runs in, and I'll have to junk it.

Thought I'd lighten up the mood in this thread.
I thought this board had finally kicked it but no - It's the Sabertooth 2.0 I wailed on for so long with any and everything from stock to Ln2 for about 7 years. Still does the "New CPU installed" thing that prompted me to finally retire it from benching last year but that little issue is not a prob to get around. I though it was done after that but I tried it not too long ago and figured out it's still useable, so it's being used as my daily these days.
I had reset the BIOS and it was set to disable LAN in one of the profiles I have in the BIOS. I though the LAN controller had finally croaked but then I figured that out and all is still well (Enough) with it.

Bones: I have one of those too. Haven't used it in a long while. I loved that board. Great clocker. I managed to kill the sound on it and had to go to a sound card with it. I beat the hell out of that board and it just kept on going. One day I'll bring it out again.

For sure, the card still works, but I don't think it has much left in it. So I pulled it. Degraded all the way down to a lonely HD3450. Drivers. Uhg, where to find em? It's all good there too. I have a Saphire disk that has drivers list as such. Radeon 95xx or later 9000x series Goes all the way up to HD 48xx series cards. Where one dies, another shall take its opportunity.

This one still works period, no isssues with that or anhthing else aside from it thinking a new chip has been installed all the time. I too have beat this one like a red headed, dead step-horse and it keeps galloping.
