My 8700K decided to give up in my daily. Kept freezing non-stop earlier so I set it up on the bench and the board just gave a 00. Ran a pretty conservative 4.7G 1.25V under water for the last while so I'm not sure why it happened.

May have a casualty of my own ATM. After trying my SLI-DR it woudn't boot with the sticks I had in it, switched sticks and it booted up. After checking how the sticks were in the slots I spotted a little cap sitting right on the edge of the RAM slot, I'm hoping it didn't come out of the other sticks I tried since those are a set of PC4400's, the ones I ran with my Opty 175 earlier in fact that did 308Mhz for Gold with that chip.
I do have an infrared soldering setup so if I have to, I can fix the stick it came out of but that would still be a PITA to do since it means removing the heatspreaders.

I just killed my Radeon 8500 that I overpaid way too much for. -_- The gold stuff on the AGP pins flaked off, and now it doesn't POST anymore. My idiot self started rubbing it, "what's this hanging off my card?" Replaced it with a 7500, but still. Not a "kill", but also had a 960T arrive in the mail completely smashed pins because of seller negligence. Bones, hope you get that sorted out and can fix it. That definitely would suck to have 308MHz DDR not work ever again.

My HD 5870 engineering sample, unfortunately... put a fishy PCI card in the slot below it and it blew a... something by the fan header. Left a nice burn mark on the heatsink. Card still works, but it has trouble getting into an OS (likely because it's overheating, since the fan does not spin.) I'll also include yesterday's death of an IDE Caviar drive. Fired up CrystalDiskMark and halfway thru random write it decided now was a great time to lose head stability.

I haven't blown anything up since I popped the Z77 OCF but I do know how it feels too - I've trashed enough of it along the way.

Today's casualty is a 40GB IDE Spinpoint drive. I've had reliability issues with these in the past (as in 3 others dying) so it was to be expected. It died very quietly though, while installing Windows 2000 for a testbench.

I normally go WD all the way for HDD's but I do have a couple of Seagates, an old Maxtor and a few others but none by that name. One of my previously dead Ultra D's I spotted somehting on and tried a fix, it's still dead so it's officially for parts now. Still working to see if I can't get the other NF7 working - At least to figure out "How" it's dead so it may be possible to fix.

I've fixed a few Caviars, and a few of those old Quantum drives that had the issue with rubber bumpers sticking the heads in place...

That is where this 2.0 C1 chip stops but I have the cascade on it -100 it will only get to around 170 bus on water. Be another 2 weeks before the D1's arrive about the same time for the Radeon 9000 I have bought.

Yep Northwoods are not superhot Prescott I was running this 2.0 C1 Northwood at 1.8v with a waterblock on it no problem. The max voltage I would give prescott would be 1.7v less even. My 3.0 Prescott GO will run at 300 bus at 1.52 volt doesnt like any more.
