Just did the first mowing of the year after servicing the zero turn. Had to replace the battery this year because the old one was bad and made sure it wasn't a maintenance free battery I got this time. Got that done so I lubed the deck and front wheels, filled it with gas and went for it. Note I didn't change the oil because it simply isn't time for that yet by the hour meter, but will later on this year for sure and the blades are still reasonably sharp too.
It did like always - Started right up and mowed just fine.

Cool. I'm not quite ready yet. My soil is still thawing out.

Ours is thawed and the green stuff is coming up, complete with bees and wasps buzzing around and all else that says "Spring". I am expecting more cold to be around but at this point it's more of an overnight thing, what we have to look out for next is the bad stuff that comes with it.
If we can make it to the first of May and not have any real disasters happen we'll be OK here.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you Bones. Our winter here was a short one. Warm weather coming in. Lots of melting and thawing going on. My sump pump has been pretty active lately so yeah. As soon as I feel up to it I have to go outside and do some gardening. My soil is just too mushy to do anything yet.

Been getting alot of rain lately so the ground is a bit soft, yet I have two yards now to keep up with and it's about due to do both. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain all day and then dry out that night, I'll have to be quick to get a good mowing in between weather events to come. I have no idea how the yard at the new place will be for mowing but I guess I'll find out soon enough.

Just ordered a deck rebuild kit. Have a 2007 Craftsman 42" rider. Getting new bearings, pulleys, belts and blades this year.
Parts come next week. Grass is already green and growing at my place. Feels like I stopped mowing for only a month or so lol. Short winter.
