Winter came early for me this year. Got 2 inches last night. 40 MPH winds with single digit wind chill. Company owner was panic stricken until I told him my shop already has 12 salt trucks and 12 plow trucks ready to go, and all the big equipment in there respective locations. Also told him "thought you wanted to be a better snow company, that's why you pay me the big bucks." I was ready by October 15th. Shhhhh.......

The owner would be happy to have you scotty. Traffic paralysis happens easily with heavy snow at my place.

I like snow, fun to play on and good money to remove it or putting chains on.

Nice job Scott!! You get paid the big bucks for good reason. We are ahead of schedule despite being short handed. It's tough to winterize over 70 trucks while some of them are at other locations. Our plow equipment is also ready except the snow pusher for the bobcat machine. Parts on order the rubber blade is shot.
No snow here yet, but hoping for some. The puppy hasn't seen a snow fall yet but he sure does like the piles of leaves!!
Snow brings money. Let it fly!

WTG Scotty you are worth more than he is paying you. Funny you should say that. My 1 year performance review is due. I'm looking for a decent pay bump. Haven't had one in about 13 years. Not even cost of living increases. Also got all my NYS DOT motor vehicle inspection licenses again. Haven't had those in about 30 years.

i reckon youre gunna have a bastard of a winter this year, better you than me mate, i hate the cold I'm thinking you're gonna be right. well the reason i say that is our BOM (bureau of meterology) here reported not long ago that the atlantic and pacific oceans have cooled down significantly and quite quickly the other week, and i posted that the ocean temps were still at 20c at 200 mtrs not long ago somewhere on here i think, the BOM are claiming now here that were going into the LA Nina cycle again which is rain, El Nino is the dry period as we know, i dunno how it affects you guys in parts of the northern hemisphere but to me im suspecting it means freezing cold winds and heaps of bloody snow

NOAA says the same thing. La nina cycle here. That means wetter than normal. yes it does scotty , and to me that means for you guys and damn cold wet windy and plenty of slush and snow ill give you an example of here scotty, now its 2 weeks till summer starts on dec 1, this spring weve had about 4 days of weather thats hit around the 30c mark, usually we get up to 35c and + b4 summer starts, its been funny weather, some days its lucky to get to 20c lately, cold bastard southerly winds and sw winds straight off the snow country, im sure well get the heat coming into the 40's+ this summer but the usual spring hasnt been like the normal spring heat and im right on the coast, pete is in a bit of a valley with hills around him so hes knows what im sayin about the cooler weather we been having, when normally this time of the year wed have 35c no worries leading into summer, another reason why i reckon you guys are gunna cop it this winter...big time

NOAA says the same thing. La nina cycle here. That means wetter than normal. Those hurricanes were a tell tale sign of things to come. We've got an inch or so of lake effect snow on the ground. It's chilly out. The weekend will be a little raw with a warm up coming up this week. I'm expecting a rough winter this year.

A little snow and cold never hurt anyone. you know what the difference is now shrimp ?, once upon a time hurricanes and cyclones could be predicted where theyre gunna hit, they still can to a point, the way the weather is and has been changing over the last 20 - 30 yrs is a gamble now where its gunna hit, whether itll g back and reform then come back again, areas where there were no hurricanes and cyclones are getting hit now, look ive seen the glacier in canada, lake louise glacier at Banff twice now, in 23 yrs, 1st time was in 1982, 2nd was in 2005, the last time it was a mere nothing from what i saw in 1982, actually david attenborough did a doco on it and i saw that doco, when he saw it 50 yrs ago and what it was like when he saw it again and that was only last year on tele, its less than half of what he saw 50 yrs ago , now what does that tell you, or anyone ??, its just normal weather cycles isnt it, fucking bullshit it is , weather patterns just dont collapse to the point like they have over that short a time period for no reason, and i dont give 2 fucks what anyone says, the proof is in the pudding, and im no greenie by any means, the facts are there and its about time people realised it as such, go look at your birds, birds are the first species to know the difference and try to adjust themselves accordingly, i would say here in ozz land we have way more different bird species than you guys do, even their patterns have changed, earlier breeding, stopped breeding, halted breeding, and were on the other end of the earth than you guys, birds just going and not coming back for 2-3 + yrs, birds and other animals will tell you whats happening in nature if you know how to read them and it

Uh.....
You cannot predict weather accurately. Scientists brag they can predict climate. There's a difference.
I think that's the point your touching on here?

Weather can only be predicted semi accurately up to about 5 days out. Nobody can predict climate change. You can track it, and it's trends, but actual predictions are like throwing darts with a blindfold on.
The governments of the world really poisoned peoples minds with the global warming hype. Less than 1% of what they say is actually fact. They rest is just interpretation.

But can't personally compare to 1000 years ago which for the life of the planet is a very short time. No matter, our taxes pay for rubbish and or truth no matter how its interpreted.
