As the title states, is there anyone out that still benches pre 2000 hardware? like early Cellys, Pii and Piii's, K62's and so on? Was thinking of setting a second boot on my 440bx system for benching but did not want to bother if I'm the only one left benching the old stuff.

Maybe some grand papas, without cash.
Points wise totally useless subs for the Team.

I do occasionally, did this last month, Savage4 screaming @ 180MHz (Soft limit). hwbot.org/submission/4978610_I would do more but these old boards that are best for OC'ing are getting very pricey, also finding performance SDR mems is quite difficult too. |

Also like pre-2000's hardware. All and any hardware really.
Even overclocked a laser pointer once.
But no team points for laser pointers. I suppose this means I'm penniless.... dunno lol.

Personally, I only go back to S462/478, anything older hardware prices were getting more collector orientated and I decided to stop looking. Still have a few VGAs from 2000 & pre as well as OS's.

I'd love to get into Slot chips. I've done a couple in the past. It's just as challenging as any platform really. A test to true stability with overclocking though. The benchmarks took a lot longer than they do today. |

I have Socket 7 with GA-5AX, Slot A with Asus K7M and Slot 1 with Abit Be6-II. Not too many CPUs though, a couple I have scores with and there are a couple that are as yet unbenched. One day. Hopefully can dust off the cobwebs with the nest OSisBS.

That's what I like about benching those old chips, its not like today when a bench is done is like .2 seconds. prime on a p5 yeah you're going to be there for a wile.
Not only that but slot chips can be modded a lot more then a socketed chip.

I bench all the way down to socket 7. But I have plans to go down to 486 and maybe 386 (oldest thing that can run HWBot tests) in the future. Right now crushing some 478 records, pretty old too.
Everything performs better under Nitrogen. That looks one hell like a flugegeheimen  Nice setup! |

My most sincere apologies ( for what it is worth ) for writing this garbage things. I am truly sorry gentlemen. It will not happen again. Never. As a matter of fact I do own an Asus P4c800e-deluxe II and an AsRock P41 ( 865 PE chipset ), BH5 OCZ platinum 2 X 512mb sticks doing 2-2-2-5-1T at 600mhz with 3.4V, an 6800 Ultra AGP card and two velociraptors ( raid 0 ) with XP sp3. I have booted the system under water with a 3.06 Northwood and it runs just fine. Keeper 100%, but I do not think I will ever bench it. AGAIN, please forgive me. George |

George It's OK George, I can promise you I too have made a few "Garbage" post along the way myself, usually a result of things similar in nature to what you experienced. No one here is perfect, I certainly can't claim perfection myself. |

sometimes i OCing pre 2000 hw, such as socket 5/7/370 have socket 7 ga-5aa, p5a-b, ms-5184; socket 370 cusl2, tusl2-c, st6, ep-3pta and many cpus for that. has all records on celeron mendocino 370 spi 1m aslo i like kotori san results, so what happend with him? why he stop OCing? |

I had a Soyo Dragon for 370, beautiful board at the time. Got my EB to I want to say 180, but cant remember offhand. I hosed the bios and was a noob. Thought the board was done Just a boot block error Just one of many regrets  |

Have socket A on the bench right now.
Benching isn't fun though.
5 cpuz tabs after a pimod is impossible to get high frequency and have proper HwBot submissions.
I haven't any older hardware than this any more though.

I'll be benchmarking a couple, an early Socket A and a Socket 7 or two maybe. Not for bot points or anything, and probably won't even be overclocked. I might bench them just to bench them though.
