I just realized depending on how things line up I just might be able to participate in this. Hmmmm... Well, assuming Benchmate doesn't drive me nuts, that is. B-mate ain't so bad gangsta. Especially if you never use it like myself. But will be choiceless while it will become mandatory even on legacy operating systems. Its likely when that happens, I'll be taking up tennis 🎾 or ⛳ golf or maybe line 🕺 dancing. Won't know till we get there though. See what happens.

BM will never be mandatory on legacy hardware. That a good to hear, doubly so since my legacy hardware might very well be getting a Cryorig R1 Ultimate to help out.. Don't get me wrong, I do like the AIO cooler, but a heatsink is self contained...

There are many air coolers out there that are just as good as any AIO.

Just seen this fancy compo ! I guess, I should mess in the bios again. Long time passed since I've done weird things like that ! It was always a pleasure to participate in any of Your competitions so beware, I'm coming and I'm super relaxed ! lol

This thing is crazy, I shaved another 5s and could probably do some more since my os is pretty much untweaked.. just some manual stuff here and there..

Gonna get your CPU's in the mail so you can use them. Thanks for the loaner. It's all good. The 200, 220 and 1200 all bench about the same. So I'll just run the Office and HTPC as they are and simply submit a score. The 2700X is basically set up all defaults, so I'll have to tinker with that a bit one evening during the week after the kids go to bed.

Rig Pic is bad quality because of the 1MB file limit means i had to use a lot of compression to get it under 1MB.
Nice Rig

I was/am on the list to test it out on the Canadian circuit, not sure how it will do on most of my CPUs.. the only one I have that I can get close to the needed TDP is my X5690 and I would have to kick it right in the corez starting at around 1.55v possibly..

I'm very skeptical of that cooler. The design idea is neat.
The size, it's a monster The material, it's aluminum.
Interested in the 169$ results.
Hope you guys make a new thread about it!

Saw a couple reviews already. Good air cooler, but huge. Price and performance puts it behind a good AIO though. Niche market.

I wouldn't pay for it either.. I was hoping to get it for free for testing lol. But no.. so no. Main reason being, from what I understand you need serious TDP to get the refrigerant to boil, but were talking threadripper class TDP. I talked to a guy who tested on his 10 core Intel and said his D15 was better.. At that point I was like ok I'm out.. Gotta spend the time, the material, gotta pay for shipping a big package.. for something I might not even be able to get to work properly.. Thanks for the opportunity..

I don't know about that cooler, but my Athlon rig really did not like me pushing clocks. It restarts.
Boots with OC to windows fine, can play around, then all of a sudden Boom restart.
Even at defaults.
So I may have to install a dedicated card cause I'm thinking running the iGPU and the memory at an OC like that makes it really unhappy.

I do not like AIO's, I've already had one before and gave it away. Yes, it's pricey for an air cooler but (To me) it's better than an AIO - If I'm going for watercooling it would be custom all the way or nothing.
I understand guys but that's what I'm going with, esp since I've already paid for it.

He spent a little money on a good water block and cut many degree of his temps. Rather build a loop from heater cores and a good pump from the hardware store honestly.

Depends on what you're using them for. A decent 360 AIO is almost as good as a cheap custom loop now.

Depends on what you're using them for. A decent 360 AIO is almost as good as a cheap custom loop now. But there's no reason to water cool the mainstream chips any more. It's wasted money.
