I know one thing - Once it's here I'll set it up and see how it does. Certainly better than anything else I've got for AM4 and then it goes into the daily which is what I really got it for.
I'll be working on the more extreme kind of cooling for AM4 later.

So running something heavier like linpack or occt I was about 120w in the cpu ppt box in hwinfo, and about ~200w at the wall.. my 3600xt I think made it all the way up to 115w or so and about the same at the wall maybe a touch more.. that might be manually.. cant remember.. Both CPUS will run to the 80s and level out in the lower 80s higher 70s. I can see an AIO or CLC or whatever do a little better if you have strong fans to chill the coolant a bit with heavy scrubbage, not the stockers. 38mm fans are quite effective on an aio/clc.. but I could be thinking of Push/Pull. Its the pump and permeation that kill it imo. I had my little true spirit 140 power installed for a few days, and it was really weird seeing the back of the motherboard lol.. but it was kinda nice too..
I am genuinely interested in the results coming. I had high hopes for it, but I let them get dashed at the mention of TDP.. like Mr. Castanza and the pool "incident"

Depends on what you're using them for. A decent 360 AIO is almost as good as a cheap custom loop now. But there's no reason to water cool the mainstream chips any more. It's wasted money. I would argue silent cooling that's still effective is a valid reason. My RTX 2080 gets loud nowadays...

Is it really quieter though? I haven't heard a new one but you could hear the pump on my old one, the liquid moving, and then the fans. But I haven't heard a new one that's why I ask. I can run my fans at 5v set my cpu fan to silent or even just take it right off all together, and set 0 rpm mode on my gpu and have dam near silence too. Its not Noctua silence, its Panaflo silence.. so a little motor noise maybe some turbulence.. not too bad.. could be at 12v 2500 lol

My Athlon 220ge has a fan with 2 screws shoved into the fins of a retro fitted Opteron heat pipe cooler and 80mm fan. 100% for the OC comp here. But my office rig is true silent. Running the iGpu, and do have one case fan exhaust. I could remove it entirely. But high end rigs, no such thing as silent. . _________________________ That siphon cooler ______________ It's just that it's made of Aluminum. The cost... Might as well made it somewhat smaller out of copper to help justify the pricing. But knowing Rodz, he'll modify the motherfucker in someway to maximize it's performance

But knowing Rodz, he'll modify the motherfucker in someway to maximize it's performance 120mm Deltas? Already have a 120mm 240 CFM Delta in the tower I made. Doable and something around 200CFM or better in a set of fans should do it. EDIT: Found a quad of Delta's (170CFM fans) that should do the trick.

Having a waterblock on the card means I could do a 360mm radiator, some relatively quiet fans, and boom. Noise becomes constant low hum versus the kind of warble the Strix cooler can have, especially once it spools up over 70% fans. Trmps would be cooler too.

I havent used ambient for a while . Hardware is to expensive to try major OC on air . Wish I could join in .

Air cooling won't break your hardware unless you push unrealistic numbers for ambient. He has a point Jon Even under a 1K dollars water cooling system, I am very conservative in pushing things. Especially mems and mem controller. The selected by Brad benchmarks ( no criticism here, love and respect for Brad ), require high speed single core setup and very fast memory setup ( which eventually leads to pushing mem voltage and stressing mem controller ). I am not participating too. Believe it or not, I am afraid of ambient stressing

I have only tested ambient.. Yes you do have to be careful, and yes, you cannot be ham handed with voltage, well you can, but it depends what voltage.. These aren't as frail as you guys think.. you just cant use, and wont see the big numbers that you are used to. This is where it all starts, is at ambient, not in the cold The cold is where things progress, and end

But in my very long benching life ( 22 years ), I have had out of the blue damages on very expensive HW, using voltages well below the supposed "safe". And I will not run SPI under win 10 with mems running 4000 / 15-15 with 1.50V. Not my style and not my liking.

I know man, it always hurts to say good bye. I just try to appreciate the time we've had together I grabbed a copy of 7 and thinking of ordering a usb card to use on my pc. All this 7 talk is making me feel nostalgic

It sure is much harder to get first place when everyone is running ambient temps. I'll agree to that.
The rest, well that's going to depend on your skill sets. If sub zero cooling is the only place your comfy, then I perfectly understand that. ____
For me, memory swapped to a b-die kit. System is much more stable now. Actually have some better clocks too. Timings a bit looser. 1667mhz 14-16-16 right now. Can just get under that 20s PiFast now I think. Super close.

You guys will have fun . Im jealous It's fun for sure! Maybe next time eh?! I realized today that I was looking at an 1600 AF submission which looks like Zen+.. I thought at first I was trying to go against a first gen ryzen chip. lol. Damn confusing Ryzen part numbers. So now I don't feel too horrible about the PiFast time at 20s + so far. Probably decent, not super sure yet. Will have update screen shot with proper background. I also forgot that too.

If your comments where removed from the comp, please don't be offended. Trying to keep it clean and easy for Ales.
Please post comments here!!

Fuck me. face palm ya, I didn't convert, that's just the number I got. BM wasn't doing the screenshot business to get their fancy box on the right for me so I gave up and posted what I got. no clue why it was giving me issues and I wasn't planing to sub anyway. if it bugs Ales he can just ignore my sub. I had fun anyway with no expectation of winning

Vin. lol. Hit F6 when the benchmark finishes. It took me 3 days to figure that one out. (before the comp though) But man, F W10. I have half the mind to find a spinner and slap W7 on it and do it all over again. Will be shaving off MINUTES with 32m run. 2700X, well I'm currently working on that. That will be W10, full OS and very poor times HAHA.

had no clue about a hot-key.... There was a button to save the sub but it stayed greyed out and I couldn't click it
I was in Win7 anyway, but didn't want to rock the boat about BM.

Benchmate does not even install on Win 7. Since it is obligatory for comp I am afraid win 10 is a must.
BTW, ran the exact same setup under Win 7 and I am ashamed to let you know the results. IT IS SO MUCH FASTER, lol.
