Personally, I'm getting 754 out of the way first. I'm stronger in the other 2 platforms.

At 2.8ghz 939 1024m Wprime. Halfway decent time for the clock speed.... lol Nice choice for a bench *pulled hair out, now bald* Corsair sticks runnin good though Rod. Think I'll have some like'able timings. Spent at least 2 hours tweaking last night with quite the frustration lol. I'm good to 3.5v on the Ram right? (with the sinks but fan'ed)

Turns out it wasnt the card at all the X800 does the same thing I can run fast bus with 2D but not 3D time for a bios flash.

That's better than having a dead card.

You still have a shot at a good finish. Once I get the work with my board repair project out of the way, however it turns out I'll be able to do a setup and see what I can come up with.

Got a DFI 754 and 939 the latter is new to me (probably from Bones) and missing the chipset cooler and wondering if a passive sink is ok, do have a lot of air coming from the fan I use to cool the RAM and board. I never cleaned things up after TC nor what benching I did after so the room is in utter chaos took a good thirty minutes moving stuff around to find the boards.

Should be fine as long as you have a fan blowing on it.

You did get two of those from me and both were good boards, could really push a chip hard if they had to.
Yes, a small fan placed on or just blowing on it is fine.

And to prove that these long wprime1024 runs aren't waste of time, I made this while the bench was running !

My Opteron what I wanted to use for the comp at first totally lost contact between ihs and the die. Not turned bad but really totally zero. Slowly it would reach even 80 degree in bios just turned down around 75. Those are not so hot chips even, I'm amazed how could broke this to zero heat spreading. I wish it is the problem though... :S I will delid now, so it will be cleared soon. I hope this is the problem only and also I'm not going to hurt the chip since its a really nice clocker little one !

Good luck delidding it, I hope you get it all ready soon. Just did a setup of my own for the sake of doing it. Will load an OS later and so on, then give it a whirl.

alpi , is that just the fan from the Wraith Prism on the AN7 or did you mount the whole cooler? If so how did you do it? Cheers

Its an Am4 cooler but has the same mounting as those 939, am2, and so coolers. So its perfectly the same method, to the same points and those points are very universal at Amd. (She is an AN8. )

Ah yes. Just an old opteron 140w heat pipe cooler.. AMD slapped a fancy rgb fan on it. Upgraded mine with a dell delta case fan, now good for 150w

Its really a good cooler ! Never thought before I try ! Not really understand, how it could do this but cooling really awesome. I think I'm going to use this as a basic (but also pretty good) Amd cooler since it has really wide support with this mounting.

alpi ah ok, I saw the colour of the board and thought it was the AN7. Makes sense the cooler fits s939 as the same mounting scheme from s754 to AM4.

Seeing that its really became a question about changed the whole positions compared Am3... Was it really necessary ? But don't want any little argument since changed the wholes but made ok for the same socket cpus that shows big diffs on nearly everything so it wouldn't be questionable if they said, ok ppl, zen2 needs a new platform, sry but thats really a completely new stuff, doesn't just an advanced seria of the earlier architecture. So, Let my wholes changed just give another gen straight into my socket with that efficiency than it used to be.

Should of used a 939 Asus MB but Scott is always kicking my ass with a DFI and can use some BH5 instead of TCCDs Don't have anything working for Nvidia, 1900 XT looks like it's going to work (?) 1950 XT only with water. Finding a chipset sink sucked had to drag out the junk tub, nothing sitting out dead fit. Do have a low profile one but no mass in the base. You can see the dust on the chair been awhile since I've been in that corner.
