How do you do per core on Wprime? Just leave it set for 1 thread? And how are you going to control the core count on the 3D benchs? Core count will not make much difference in 03 but it definitely will in 05. Might make it easier to just make it single core processors only.

Believe it or not I logged in to make that very change. No dual cored CPU's allowed and all single core chips are now legal, no L2 cache limitations and that's final.
I'm glad all this is coming up well before it starts.

Indeed, simplifies things for a more even playing field. In short K.I.S.S for the comp and with this it should (Hopefully) be just that. Note that all changes are done and no more will be implemented, the comp is what it is now.

Did you sell Burnee off or is he still around? Doesn't really matter to me, I was hoping you at least had a little fun before letting him move on.

Pretty sure you've lost them marbles you had left. Lol. Nope I made the choice to save Burnee and use my UT for going sub zero so help me there no CB issues. I will have that board forever Rodney. Unless you want it back, It's in the box wrapped nice and snug. Ive never sold or given away anything given to me by any of you guys. Ever. In fact, Ill be using the 1800XT that Scotty gave me years ago. Bummer I benched it recently and put the stock cooler back on it. Now, gotta get the water block on it. Pretty sure this is going to be a major challenge because I know what Im up against. But you fellas better bring your A game, I intend to go hard as possible.

I really don't like clicking onto pics from external hosting sites, those have been proven to be loaded with crap when you go there. Yeah, I probrably won't be "In" it myself but if I decide to play I've got most of the bases covered here.

In Socket 754 you're probrably right but in the rest.... Nah. I had to clarify more things about the rules so hopefully all is clear enough but from here on we'll deal as required.
Also made sure to include links to the benchmarks and so on we'll be running.

Oh here is Burnee. I did take that chipset cold with a TEC. Did alright I should say!! But it's a nice board and after that bus clocks run I was attempting, with your guys help, felt I was successfully overclocking. And would like to keep onto this one for later. Have to do some fun with the UT because I've never had a backup board if I broke it. That's why I sent you that other one, for to have some fun and have a backup, but wasn't repairable. Damn nice board though..... a shame. Ahh.. the eyeball candies. Take it in.

I don't see Burnee but again, that's OK - He's yours to do as you please with. I'm hoping some new guys will come in and have fun along with us, the more the merrier I say.

Oh for sure. Got a handful of dups from Scotty to work with. I didnt go through all the cpus yet, will need to for sure to compete on that platform.
I gotta figure out how to reduce the quality or image size on my phobe. It takes 5mb pictures and makes it tough to upload them here with a 1mb cap. Drives me nuts.
I think my memory is still installed in Burnee as well. Cant find the sticks Im looking for. No I didnt sell them.
I gotta check the cmos battery on that board right? Guru chip will drain it even when boxed correct???

Thank you sir. Walked in popped the battery and it was definitely low, about 2.8v. I will replace it. Here's the picture Rodney.

Yeah, remove it whenever you store the board, Uguru will nibble on it until it's all gone.

Do you guys know what the wattage of the chipset is?

No idea. Nobody ever asked me that before.

It's not stupid, I just can't answer it. Right. Do you think a 15w would be a good assumption based on heat sink size and fan? 15-20w? Trying to do some math to keep the chip cool, but above freezing temps. The unfortunate part, I don't have a waterblock that small. I do, but not practical for this situation, the barbs are on the side vs the top where I prefer them to be. So was thinking 35-60w Tec implemented with air cooling instead. I figure I can get around 15-20c maintained, but without knowing the wattage of the chipset, it'll be trial and error. I'd like to have less trials and get closer to that goal. I can get one Tec at X wattage and be sure it will suffice. The TEC I have for chipsets is 60w with a 60 or 65c thermistor. This reduces power to the TEC once it reaches this temp. Depending on hot side cooling, I can generally get 25-30 Delta difference on either side of the Peltier. So this makes it easier to manage if I have all the round about numbers in one basket.

I can't imagine the chipset power would be very much, your 60w peltier @ 5 or 3.3V should work without getting too cool. Alternatively you could grab a cheap 20A Buck converter off ebay to run the peltier and simply adjust the voltage and current output to get the desired results.
