I saw that shitty weather on the news yesterday. My step daughter moved from here to Merritt Island FL almost a year ago, and her house is made out of concrete so it doesn't blow away? I cant imagine wind that fast, 90 km/h is the highest I've seen lol.

Nearly winter and forcast is 39C tomorrow . That is just gross. I dislike temps over 25c lol. I understand why you don't want to oc with ambient temps lol. This winter was pretty good. I bet if its not a wet summer it will be hot and gross. Like standing in someone's mouth. Ugh.

You've been on my mind Rods. I was watching the news last night and all of what was going on with those storms. I am very glad to hear that you are alright.

Something woke me up for a short moment last night, the rain it was! This morning could see that half of the snow was gone. Today foggy at times, the ice on the sea is melting and warmer winds from s/w are flowing in. Looks like spring is on the way In these areas, the 24h av temp usually begin to stay above +0'C around mid April.

I'd call it nice myself BUT it also means it's that wonderful, windy, funnel-ful time of year too. Our threat of the bad stuff won't be over until around the end of April.

We are on the roller coaster here. 70f one day, 25f and snow the next. Calling for a couple inches mid next week. I'm not surprised.

I dont know how you do it man! 90 klick wind to me is a little worrying lol.. never mind 200 mph.. We are at the very tip of the alley, and last summer I think it was, a young couple tried to escape one but couldn't. Very sad indeed. I believe they were in their late teens early twenties. The town was a couple of hours from here.. so technically I am not at the tip I guess.. Do you have a bunker to take cover in or is that only in the movies?

Storm Cellars are found mainly in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and so on West of where I am. Here we do have them but not like you'd think. Personally I don't have one but at least the home is substantial (Brick) but that's no guarantee of anything when it comes down to it. We get it bad enough it's threat but not enough to make it a requirement..... But it's nice to have if you ever do need it.

Sorry if it sounded silly, I have no experience with windy days like you get heheh. When I was in my late teens we went to Grand Forks ND. Stopped for gas and I noticed a cute girl behind the counter so I went to talk to her. Loved her accent. She asked where I was from and I told her and she asked if we lived in igloos. My mind is still blown 20+ years later. I only live 3 hours from there.. so hopefully I didn't make you feel like that

Actually it's not such a bad question to ask. Since we do get them like we do it's not unexpected to think about it in such a way.
Unfortunately last night, we did have some bad ones come through and did have a few fatalites occur.
I know one thing, if you were someone thinking about moving here it's something to wonder and ask about.

Tomorrow is going to be one of those "interesting" days. Cold front moving in, is normal... At this time of year though it does... Well, they put out a weather advisory about it.
Rain becomes snow, okay, that's norma... Wait, mild THUNDERSTORMS while this is happening tomorrow, while it rains and snows at the same time, and their estimate is around sundown will be when the winds hit hard, suddenly dropping temps too.
Yeah, I'm rather glad I'm sitting this winter out in the comfort of my apartment. That's going to be hellish conditions to drive in come Monday morning...

The weather patterns have changed so much within the last couple years. The Southern and Southeast United States is now getting the tornadic weather that was once mostly and predominantly in the Midwest. We used to get sometimes 100 tornados in one hit all over the the Midwest, now that weather pattern has moved down south/southeast. Now the Midwest has very unstable winters. When it snows around our lake during the winter we just don't know when it will stop and it's a moist deep cold in the winter with super hot summers with a lot of humidity. We can be 60/70*F one day and 0*F the next.

Yeah, I've noticed the weather patterns change over the years too. The thing I miss most about winter as a kid was when it decided it was going to be twenty below, it would stay that way for a few weeks...
...None of this indecisive teenager behaviour we've had the past little while, where one day it's 15C and the next it's ten below. Or worse, it starts at ten below, sun rises, and by noon it's ten above. No, none of that, this is supposed to be winter!

39f degree today and by Tuesday 63f then by Thursday/Friday back into the 40s. It's like a roller coaster ride out there. It was really nice yesterday though. Took a cruise to my brothers house. Looking at a grow he's doing (legally, he has a med card) Plants to flower x4 in a week or two. All paid for seeds 100$ for 10 of them. 20-30% thc

Mother Nature says "ha ha muther fuckers, how about 6 inches of snow today". 30 hour shift yesterday into today to put 20 winter trucks back together that I just put up for the green season, for just a 2 day event. I love doing shit 2 or three times.

I went out early this morning. It was so cold out there. It was so cold that I could hang hub caps off of my nipples.

I learned along time ago to have the Winter stuff "Ready" for storage yet can be put to use on the spot until at least the first of May. Even in May I've seen mornings with a bit of ice on the roof, although that's a rarity it can happen.
I clearly recall one year on May 18th I went up on the roof of the DC where I was working, had some roof fans to get going and there was ice up there right as the sun was coming up. Of course it wasn't there for long and was like standing in an oven before I was done.

Snow clearing contracts end April 30 here Us too. Still on and off snow today. Tomorrow 60 degrees. Next week 80. I'll start stripping equipment tomorrow..........again.

I'd rather strip equipment, but no. I get stuck doing the clutch jobs, engine tune ups, welding, customers vehicles. The rest of the dummies do all the easy stuff so they don't F anything up.
Today started off frozen then warmed up nicely like right now just about 60 degree or so. The hot weather comes and I prefer to work hard in cool weather. Not really looking forward to summer.
Vehicles A/C all in working order, so that's good at least.

Weather has been weird here, all over the place the past two weeks... With mostly shorts weather.
But I know better. Yesterday was -10C, night before was howling winds... Today it's 6C again, and I'm all "okay spring, we get it".
May long weekend can't come soon enough.
