Shrimp sent me a few AGP cards and I have a few cards myself all ready. The only AGP board I have the is fully working in a 440bx board so not the best to use.
I was looking into getting a newer board and was wondering what folks would suggest? I don't want to brake the bank nor am I looking to beat every top score but to just have fun. Are those asrock 775 boards still the way to go? would a cheaper 939 board be worth looking into at all? Any boards I might not know about ?

I can't speak on what plat would be best other than 775 as you mentioned, but I do know those ASRock boards are usually very expensive and hard to find now (at least in the USA) for that reason.
Should only support earlier Netburst - but is your Abit AS8 still working? That could be a fine stop-gap until you find something like a NF3 board.

Asrock 775 VSTA is the same as 4coreSata or Asrock Conroe865pe might be able to be found cheap.
Anything else is just junk

But might as well to get them Core2's. Or Alternative, AsRock s939 Dual sata 2, But good luck finding the AM2 upgrade card for it. Then you could run Phenom on the AGP. |

Ideally you want a 4Core SATA or a AM2NF3. I been keeping am eye out for the am2nf3. it comes up for sale a lot for no way I'm paying what people want. |

That would be the best board for you it only needs a simple Vcore mod and will run phenoms @ 4G+ all day long.
The 4coreSata needs more mods and can be a lot more finicky.

Just for higher OC. I've been 4.4-4.5 on them.
4.0-4.2 without the mod.
If you're into benching AGP, it's worth the price.
