Welp broken board availability isnt consistent especially the ones that are likely to work with a simple dip or 2 in water and not have to fix shorts swap components or anything like that Solder wise im looking at these ![](//storage.proboards.com/6503017/thumbnailer/LKaZayUtmXHngHSYtwoj.png) ![](//storage.proboards.com/6503017/thumbnailer/SBjnhibjzHXjeHhvsxTZ.png) ![](//storage.proboards.com/6503017/thumbnailer/VuqTpTYAFNiDsF0QrGmM.png) Theres a t12-d t12-pro and t12-x plus I dont know if the additional prefixes mean anything or theyre just there for marketing Hot air station wise im looking at a cheap 858d clone that goes around the price of that t12-d so looking for suggestions on that, or maybe i can mod it to give it some more power Actually i have a bunch of dead boards so maybe i can experiment on those instead before attempting to mod my g31m s2c and see if itll go past 542, or ill just give up on it and buy a giga p31 board then slap a g31 chipset on it But what does it take to make a pot anyways? Cause my impression is soldering a bunch of small tubes onto a thick piece of metal abit offtopic but im considering building an x58 rig to actually use cause i found someone selling a 980x + ud4p for cheap along with some other stuff and all i gotta do is fix it up, how much better is the imc on a 980x compared to an e or x xeon frequency wise? And im also curious about dual rank and quad rank on x58 since all the 4gbit ics seem to do rubbish trfc, i dont mind dropping a few hundred mhz since dual rank crushes single rank afaik. More of a stop gap system since im currently working on getting more money off flipping parts and eventually full pcs, even got a deal on a crosshair v formula and fx 8350 for only 67$ (problably gonna haggle down to 57$)

Welp got my hands on an h61m-e, of course im already fucking around with the bios and currently what ive found Asus bioses hate themselves for 60 chipsets, currently got a p8z77m bios running and seems ok Asrock runs but weird slow down issues, gotta test their z77 bioses Msi just posts and works like normal but bios is basically non functional, both z68 and z77 same thing
Currently im looking to overclock an i5 2400 cause i heard theres a thing for non k sandy and ivy i5/i7 called limited unlock letting me run 4 multis higher but cant seem to get it to work at all on any of these bioses. Did intel nuke this limited unluck with bios updates or is it just hardware limit cause i am quite literally running a z77 bios on a god damn h61

Crosshair deal went bust but randomly fround an r3x + 950 for 43$ Im honestly curious as to what a rampage iii board will do for overclocking capabilities compared to my old p6t deluxe v2 since the p6t topped out at a meager 224bclk atleast without qpi slowmode cause that just makes everything go extremely slow for some reason
ill problably use this thing and not sell cause x58 has depreciated so much in value that you cant even sell a rampage ii or iii for over 60$, and i kinda just want a pc that i can actually use

Check out Aixun T3B/T3A as alternative for T12 stuff. Alternatively, buy good soldering iron (T12/T3B) with optional desoldering gun/hot air later on.

T12d is 20$, t12-pro is 30$ and the t12-x plus is 40$ but the t3b is 150$ for the cheapest ones and t3a is steaight up non existent for hot air im looking at an 858d, if there are any better options or any modifications i can do to improve a cheap 858d then let me know, theres also a 959d but idk if thats any good, around the same price of an 858d (25$ ish)
