I recently built my new rig. Out of the box my 5950x it scored 9408 in Cinebench R20. Then I enabled PBO 4 in bios and also tightened my ram timings which netted me 11,404. I've seen several online breaking 12k using the bios curve optimizer so I tried it last night by setting the best 4 cores to -5 and the rest to -15. The system crashed and I had to clear bios. I tried again by leaving the best 4 at 0 and the rest at -5. The system booted but R20 dropped 1000 points from where I was. I suspect the curve optimizer isn't working right on my X570 Tomahawk and I need to wait for a better bios update. Any experience or thoughts with this problem? I may go ahead and try an all core OC this weekend just to see if that gains me anything. Thanks

Well... I'll be straight forward. Ditch the MSI board.
Curve optimizer and 5000 series chips, I have no direct experience.
Can share what have been read or done with previous gen chips.
First, on a stock system, Ryzen Master. Increase the EDC limit game tab PBO function. It'll boost harder via given good temps.
Grab QuickCpu and turn off core parking.

Appreciate the tip on QuickCpu Shrimp. Ok what's the problem with the Msi board?

I personally don't have any experience with MSI boards. but I remember Hardware Unboxed did a video about them and their power delivery issues.

550 + shipping Euros at Amazon.de. Pulled the trigger. Only one was available. Delivery with Cov19 will take 1 month. 5600x, 5800x, 5950x under cold. Crosshair vii is good, but power section not built for such torture. Dark has a 14 phase 90 Amps power section.

MSI B550 Unify X has an external clock gen for fine bclk adjustments. Not many of the newer boards have this as far as I know.

Crosshair impact VIII, Nice small board
It really is a small board that packs a punch. Cheaper than the other one.

I can put some shots up of runs ive just done if you like , give you an idea what it can do. RAM is much easier to tune in this than the gigabyte pro wifi i was using. Its giving good scores .

Bios is a bit basic compared to an Asus but it's a very good board. If you get decent sticks of RAM , should have no probs setting them to whatever you want. My Intel Optane drive works a treat on it as well which is a bonus.
