Me In A hot Rodding Trench (attached) MY name is Christopher, pleased to meet ya! This would be an ideal thread for pics and vids plucked off the internet if you're not looking for a whole discussion. I'm into squarebody GM Trucks. Have 2 project trucks I'll eventually get to posting about. Here's some really good examples from youtube. Attachments:

I like to wrench on weekends, but too broke to have any projects, I just fix my own stuff. Decent stuff out here is just too costly.. Rusted out cars that are lawn ornaments will still demand 5 digit values...
blows my mind when I watch a TV show and a guy can get a beater for 60/70's muscle car for $500-$2500... Like a rusty Dodge Dart with no floors would start at $7500 with a seized motor. I envy some of you guys who can get in to this stuff..

yessir, projects are all about time & money. Also if a project has to stay outside or in a cramped garage that makes a restoration work tough. I painted my visor for my larger truck Sunday night. Lot's left to paint between 2 trucks.

Man that looks mint. You don't see those here anymore, and if you do they shouldn't be on the road, because of rust.
My buddy stole a 91 Cutlass, and I stole it from him later.. man that thing ripped! I was in high school at the time.. junior high.. a tree stopped me.
Hopefully she treats you well!

Mint is the word to describe my baby. I have kept her beautiful for the last 27 years. Solid and gorgeous. When I take her out I have had whistles, honking horns and kisses thrown at her. Last summer some dude screamed out Mutha Fucka! As I ripped his doors off. LOL

LOL I do the same damn thing I set the laps to max, go backwords and aim for the best destruction. Monster truck madness series, nascar racing 3 and truck series, and nascar legends. some of the nfs games are good for that too, including Motor City Online with the launcher kit. Attachments:

I do it in NASCAR Thunder 2004, that the one where if you happen to bump one of the other drivers you tend to piss them of and they come after YOU. I essentially piss off the entire field and they all start gunning for me - It's crazy! It goes from hitting to dodging them at 200 MPH!!!

I like doing the dirt oval in Motor City Online. It's a small dirt track. I give the opponents little 32 coupes and I roll around in a elcamino for weight and power to toss 'em around. attached, the quit option I had set up in nfs4 Attachments:

spent some evening time this week setting up a panhard bar for my project truck. I've also set up the crossover steering the week before. GM uses a front to back link on the driver side for these trucks stock, which becomes garbage once you lift the suspension over 6 inches. The panhard bar will maintain proper steering geometry for consistent steering.

First time out of the garage in 7 months. I'm working on her. Tuned. Fuel system cleaner thru the fuel rail. Washed. Installed high flow cat and new muffler. Cleaning the paint with body clay. Got lots of work to do. I had put a lot of things off to the side. But I'm taking the opportunity this year to get some things done.

Sounds and looks good Eddie. Thanks Pete. One year I got bored and pulled the heads off and ported and polished them. Then after that I found that the exhaust was restricting the new found air flow and so I now installed the high flow cat and the walker turbo muffler. It helps it to breath a little easier. I didn't want it loud, just nice. She's not a racing machine(obviously)just a nice street cruiser. She's comfy. I only take her out on nice days when there is very little traffic on the road. She never comes out of the garage during bad weather. Sits all winter long. Sometimes if I just can't find the time for her she will sit an entire year. Now I want to work on the intake a little bit. I want to get more cool fresh air to it. All in good time.

Especially for just single exhaust. She does put out a very nice mellow tone. The 3300 V-6 has it's own personality. I almost modded the crap out of it. I was gonna build it up as a low deck turbo charged 3800 V6. Parts from the 3300 V6 and 3800 V6 are interchangeable for the most part. Basically it would have wound up being a Buick Grand National type of build on a smaller scale. But I changed my mind. Too much work and I'm not 20 years old anymore. Plus I would have died in it.

The Upkeep on that Buick is very impressive, as well as the exhuast note! I was unhappy with some slop in my stock upper joint so I created a new steering shaft setup using a weldon borgeson joint. Now the DD shaft(reffering to the shape of the shaft material) is the slip joint itself. The large setscrews are there to take up slack, so I don't set them too tight. Then I added grease fittings inbetween on both sides, to lubricate. I've got my steering as tight as I'll ever get it now and there's still maybe an 1/8 of a turn play in the wheel, but I can see the movement in the new balljoints, so I guess thats it. Attachments:

I wish they still made proper road legal 2 Stroke's nowadays. Modern oil injection & TPI or Direct fuel injection would probably get them running pretty clean.
