Was looking for trends on users folding back in late March so started keeping track of the top 100 active user teams on Extreme OC's folding site. Started 3/28/20 Team, Active Users, Total Users 4/4/20 Added total of all Active and Total Users from the Extreme OC site. 4/8/20 Added Total Points and WU's 4/19/20 Added information for place 12,000 were Extreme OC cuts it's data. Row 102 Total of the columns Row 103 difference between entries Row 104 difference between first and current entry Row 105 Totals for all 12000 teams Row 108 Data from the 12000 place team, Extreme OC doesn't keep user info as far as I can tell. Checked before the 9 AM update this morning, of the 12,000 teams monitored at Extreme OC. 4793 showed points for the day 6885 had points for the week 6953 had a 24 hr average. For place 12,000 at Extreme OC on 4/19/20 needed 2.44M points, this morning (11/7/20) need 7.54M The main folding site shows 255302 Teams and 2.766,225 Users as of today 11/7/20 before the noon update. Posted file is Open Office if you need a Txt file just ask. Folders.ods (139.39 KB)

Ya, makes sense. the gaggle keeps moving up. higher point teams that don't bench fall but make entry higher for others... it's a hell way to be.. just like currency inflation...

Some have fallen as well due to fewer people, but others also wound up slowing right down because of changes in how things worked.
Bigadv was a huge thing for HardOCP, for example. Well, until three months after a bunch of them invested in gear to keep going, and Stanford bumped it up to a minimum of 16 cores while most were running 12. That killed it for a number of people... Although at that time, we already were seeing the GPUs take over.

Whoa you are killing it Ales.. you've put us hard on the map... temps are still too much here, we had zero today, but near 20 yesterday. I don't want to risk the hardware. I'm hoping in the next few weeks things will cool down and be stable and then I'll be firing it back up.

Shutting down the two rigs running in the house (6m +/-) just before the noon update. 1080's been shutting down for no reason last couple days, caught it pretty quick except this morning so have to figure out why. Will run till the end of the month with what's in the garage. Hopefully up to full power by the first of Jan, maybe a little stronger.

For those that care, tomorrow when I get up everything I'm folding goes on DL and will be that way till the end of Feb at which point I'll be running 2 cards 24/7/365 under DL, (this is based on no gremlins). May have 7 days at the beginning of March where I run under Aleslammer & DL to compare 8x lanes to 16 in Windows with like cards. Wanted to get a couple 3080 but if they don't show up at original list that ain't happening this or next year.

Was reading that 3080's are getting about 5mil ppd and 3090's are getting near 6.5mil ppd... Just impressive the compute power these things have. Especially considering the 6800XT is only reporting 3 mil ppd... AMD just lost the knack of the compute power they once had.

Vin Their stronghold used to be in dual precision calculations - to this day the 7900's? are prized by several BOINC projects and actually do more work than most Titans can pull off... But yeah, hope is AMD can bring it around and hit back niiiice and hard with their graphics cards.

First gremlin attack, internet was down this morning, long enough to only have two cards still running green. Actually a little surprised it hasn't happened more, knock on wood!

temps here have climbed back up to +5C so I've had to turn down the temp limit on the 2060 to keep it going, temps on the 2080 Super are in the mid 40's as it's in the bottom slot and have more airflow.. hope it doesn't affect the scores too much.

Finally have a rig set up. Off the bench and into a case. 2060 slapped in for F@H when I can. Fresh setup, Raid 0 SSDs in the case the whole ball of wax. W10 updating it's brains out. Have a project started, will expect some time outs from folding here and there. System stable and is air cooled. Some settings lowered to conserve power to point efficiency. Will have some down time for a little cable management and putting fans in the case, there are none now. Side panel is off and Cpu cooler is currently the only air flow. May not do CPU folding at this time. Glad to be back in it. I haven't had a fresh OS for myself in years. See how long W10 lets me ride without a key and logging into my MS account

Been following this pretty close and I can't figure out where the last update came from, it's like a million more than anything we've put up before and adding up the active folks comes no where close, I'm Lost!

Do the bonus points from the passkey come later? I did use the passkey each time Ive installed it the past couple of days. if the pass key is valid do a reboot and wait. I've had it take 2-3 days for it to actually get reflected in the score in the app. also what you'll see is the application being wrong on your PPD but online will be accurate.

Sorry for the late reply. Chow was ready.
It's gotta be from using the passkey.
My pass for current WU PRGT 17427 (0, 461, 41) Base Credit = 20,300 Estimated Credit = 135,167 That's quite a difference there. Estimated PPD = 1,590,772
However, it looks like the estimated credit is accurate in past WU completed today.
So it isn't from me I don't think.

est credit isn't your PPD. so if it only takes 30-45 min to compute then you can get 15-20/day then that PPD is accurate. and PPD in the app is not definite. it's just based on the compute you are doing at that time. if you go to a harder unit then the count will go down.
right now I'm ranging 6.2mil to 7.5mil ppd and that's just what I see as I sit at my desk.

Looking at the points this morning looks good, fits right in with the additional card, What surprised me was it was like Shrimp's points all got added at that one update. We were kicking along with a couple 4s then a 5 with the highest being 5.8m as I remember so a 6.7m update through me off.

That could depend on the reporting period of him starting off with his passkey getting figured out or if he had a few runs sit on his PC and was reported at the same time. Could be a lot of reasons.
looks good now.

Nope passkey is saved to my email. I set up with it initially every time I install FH. There may have been a WU or two stuck, but not several that would be over 1 million. Couple hundred thousand maybe at best.

when you enter the passkey it can take a few days for it to actually register on all ends. I think you got points without it, and then got retroactive points once your passkey credit was used.

Vin If you don't have ten good back to back scores in the beginning, you won't get the extra credit. You'll also lose your bonus if you drop below 80% or so for valid submissions overall - and this number also includes unreturned work too (work you downloaded, and then didn't send back for whatever reason), with unreturned having a harder hit than invalids going out. Such could have contributed, or it could have just been a quirk with the credit side of things, where it was providing base but wasn't properly calculating bonus credits.

Well windows updated this time, restarted and closed my worker yesterday. OK back up and running.
Did not have to install F@H again thankfully.

with all the windows updates I've gone through, I have never had to re-install the F@H software.
Only time is if I forget to delete the GPU's from the HW list before changing out the GPU's... then F@H hangs looking for that gear and the only way to fix it that I know of is to re-install.
