Hey guys so I managed to get my hands on a Dfi Lanparty NF2 Ultra B
Was getting 00 at the start but the caps were obviously shot. So recapped with 6x 3300UF 6.3V Rubycons and it was up and running again. Benched for a bit in various stress tests. Decided to flash the latest bios rebooted. Did stress tests again dialed in 210FSB of on the 3200+ to 2.3ghz and got stuck at Post Code 25 so turned it off now Stuck on 00 Post code. Is my bios bricked ? Someone told me DFI boards like to kill themselves in the bios department a lot. I have one of them big Chinese programmers on the way with a Dip 32 adapter will that work. Any Info would be great

Check your solder joints, maybe one wiggled loose. There is a long bios reset procedure that I don't have on hand to copy paste here. You'll have to wait for Scotty, he'll help you out. Bones too. OK maybe not Bones, he logged off. (gotta take my kid to work right now, can't dig out the reset process at this time, sorry bud.)

You'll have to remove the battery, set the CMOS jumper to clear and make sure the PSU is fully discharged, let it sit for at least an hour, maybe more. Most likely it's a scrambled BIOS, DFI's need a good battery or they'll do some strange stuff and also make sure the CPU and RAM sticks are seated well. Shrimpy makes a good point, doublecheck the solder joints to make sure all are done right.
Hope this does it for you.
BTW I'm glad to see you found one.

Probably nothing to do with the bios at all. More likely shitty contact in the socket. Unmount cooler, remove and re-install CPU. When you lock the socket, put your finger on the CPU and wiggle the lever back and forth a couple times before you lock it down. Try it. @ Jon- Long CMOS clear you're thinking of is only for the 939 boards.

Ok So did everything you guys recommended, Thanks All Cleared Cmos (New Battery was installed as soon as i got it on the bench) Checked the socket and wiggled the CPU (tried both known working T-bred and Barton chips Reflowed Solder all joints look good Tried different Memory So here's the story from start to finish Got it in this morning and it was 00 post code so recapped with new caps booted fine. gave it a new battery ran it for 30 mins with a 2400+. Used Tmod dvd to flash the Latest bios (the one at the top of the list) Cleared Cmos swapped to the 3200+ i got with it ran Cb2003 for 5 mins applied Overclock 1.7v & 210fsb 175mhz Mem kept boot cycling to post code 25 so powered off then it was 00 I Was Running a 2x512Mb config when it died one of the sticks seemed faulty as i found out later wont boot on my Abit board Anyway paid £70 for the board including the outer box documentation stickers and case badge and a mystery CPU that turned out to be a 3200+ CPU - i.ibb.co/TKSVv5s/IMG-20190610-143948.jpgSetup Running - i.ibb.co/JnFgjLV/IMG-20190610-173850.jpg00 Post Error - i.ibb.co/PrXqd5N/IMG-20190610-222213.jpg

OK. That answers a few questions I had. Post code 25 is a memory code. You're probably getting that because you're trying to run a ram divider, and/or, a stick of bad ram. Socket A don't like that very much and the DFI boards hate it especially. This WILL absolutely corrupt a bios. First rule of Socket A, never ever run anything other that 1:1 on your memory.
Next question I have is, what LED's are lit on the 4 LED diagnostic on the board?

Next question I have is, what LED's are lit on the 4 LED diagnostic on the board? First time i booted i got the typical C1 memory error. so just reseated. the ram sticks are terrible just some generic CL3 400mhz Stuff. i have some 500mhz Corsair Dimms to hand but they was in the back of the boxes i have in storage. oh and the sticks were in dimm 1 and 3 dual channel slots
Thanks for the info ill be sure not to run anything but 1:1 ever again.
12v is Lit 5v is half lit not sure third LED is for Clock LED is Lit solid
(have a pic with the board working and all LED post card LEDs were the same apart from the clock led which was flashing when there was input
A faint click can be heard from the cmos speaker at startup but im sure thats nothing
Got a Mini TL866II Pro coming soon so hopefully that can revive it

3rd LED is DRAM frequency and timing set. Yours quit there. Flash the bios and set for 1:1 with good ram and you should be back in business.

Oh man, I miss these boards. I LOVED my DFI Lan Party! God I don't even remember what GPU I had in it back then. 5800U or maybe a 9700 pro? Been far to long... Back when I had to much time to play PC games haha.

Honestly, it may not have even been that high. I do recall having a 9800Pro at some point and playing Far Cry on it. I remember getting a 5800U at some point from a spare parts bin at a mom and pop computer shop for dirt cheap for Doom maybe? Just don't recall when each was exactly. I do remember having quite a few of each brand in those days from bottom side to top side. Before kids, bills, and life haha. But I remember clear as day how happy I was buying the DFI Lanparty board for its overclocking settings, was so cool back then. That and Corrugated split tube for wires (yellow), was it the cheiftech case back then too? I think my Chieftech case came after they started losing popularity as a used unit. Shame I had not kept all the parts till now. Its so funny how far computers have come on the enthusiast side.

sorry for getting off topic, my worst moment was throwing out my Voodoo 4MB add-on 3D Accelerated video card.... remember the one that sat in the next PCI slot and had the VGA jumper... I had a friend get it for me, cost me $75 in 1998... Quake III graphics came to life...
it was in a bin of spare PCB's and the bin got tossed in the trash one year for spring cleanup in 2008

There is no GART driver for NF2 for W7. If Fernando never made one, it doesn't exist.

I have forced both before. Don't really know if it created a problem or not because it was just a benching OS, not anything I'd use daily.

Installs fine in XP, just Win7 32 ran buttery smooth other than no AGP GART, thinking about finding another redline module to run 3GB and call it, course will get a fresh battery since I haven't turned it on in ages. Then learn how to force the GART from 5.10 Only file mod ive done was add amd64 switches to the .inf of my NEC Multisync LCD 1700V file so it would install on W7 64 lol. It ran COD4 fine despite 2 files needing to be changed

Update ....After purchasing a bios programmer and after the long 2 weeks it took to arrive whilst I was visiting my gf in Sweden 🇸🇪....it lives programmed the new bios and booted back up like a champ had a quick look at the read code before flashing and oh boy was it scrambled. Lessoned learned never run anything but 1:1 mem timings again! i.ibb.co/HCcHBQf/IMG-20190628-211704.jpgi.ibb.co/N3738rf/IMG-20190628-211510.jpgAgain thanks guys!

All I can say is...... Called it! Borking a BIOS in a DFI is rather common, I'd get another BIOS chip and flash it as a standby/backup to the one in the board now.
