Hi guys, Just thought I would pass this along here since the ROG forum won't let me log in. I have a Crosshair 6 hero that kept locking on Q code 8, not 08 or 80. I checked everything and everyplace looking for a answer and the only thing I could find was RMA it. This was the best answer even the ROG forum had. It would do this right at loading the OS. To make a long story short, it was the stinking CMOS battery. I was about to give up then I remembered all the crazy stuff AN7's and Ultra D's did when the CMOS battery started to die, and sure as heck.... Same deal on the Crosshair 6. It's back up and running. Hope this helps someone.

I've had that exact same thing, but BIOS apparently had an issue that could mess up the boot section of the bios, in my case the battery was fine (I had checked it).
Pulling the battery, CMOS reset, all didn't work. I had even tried the Gigabyte (leave the battery out for 24hrs bullpoop) nothing resolved it, but flashback did
Welcome to the Forum Dano

Crazy and scary bug. :s Good to know this, have a C6H too. Flashback function such a good feature. I've used just a few hours earlier, jump back to 6401 bios. New rev. wasn't as good.

Thank's guys, nice to see you too! Yeah Vin I tried the flashback, no change. It started out of the blue after changing coolant and having the PSU unplugged from the board for a hour. Apparently the battery was low enough that not having standby power made it too low while cleaning the block and flushing using a PSU test plug.
