Man I was at my buddy Dan's place out in Union this evening. He's got a real nice 66 Caddi, I failed to get pictures. First time I've seen the car too. He's one of the cats we hired last year as a trailer mechanic. He did body work for a long time so he's done some restoration to it. Real fine car. All white black interior. 1980's muscle. This is what I grew up around

I had a 1988 Iroc Camaro 350 T.P.I.. Mustang killer. I did some performance work to it. Rear end, suspension, heads, exhaust............well it was "tuned". I had a 1987 Regal T-Type Turbo(Vin Code 7)231 V-6. I also did some work on that. It was super tuned. After the trans work I had done it scared me a couple times. When it banged out of second gear you had better be hanging on tight. It made my IROC look like it was standing still and Corvettes had no chance at all against it. The Grand National was one of the most impressive cars I have ever owned. That little V6 could keep up and beat out just about everything that came to compete with it. Lost pics of those cars too. I so wish I had pics.

Mustang fan here, 67 390 notch back was kinda fun single exhaust with the 6 cylinder pony emblems on the side for that sleeper ride, Mon's car. Own ride was a 58 Chevy SWB step side, HS years.
Sorry by the 70s wife and kids not a lot of $ for fast cars.

Sorry by the 70s wife and kids not a lot of $ for fast cars. Those 390s were awesome. I had a 1969 Ford Galaxie XL Fastback Coupe with the 390 and a very special factory performance package. Another one of my brothers hand me downs. Man that thing was fast. I don't know how true the story was behind it but my brother told me it was once a Whiskey Runners car that had been confiscated and then wound up in my brothers hands. Fucking fast, fast, fast car. couldn't keep a set of tires on it. I wrecked it.
I just wasn't a good enough driver to handle that machine.

I had about 5K in the motor when it was all done. Roughly 450 horse. Lot's of super duty 421 parts. I was a Pontiac enthusiast for a long time. Still am really. Car had 68k on it when I sold it.

Man, that was one nice machine you had there Scottie. There is no replacement for displacement. When I think back on all the nice cars I had and sold. If I had just a few of them today.................I could retire.

LOL, I know. My Dad was constantly on my ass about the cars. I brought home a '72 Pinto with a 351 Cleveland that I shoe horned in. LOL. He came up to the car and screams out............you stupid fuck, you bought a car with no back seat!!!!! No common sense. ROFLMAO.

Don't laugh. This is what I'm driving now. My main ride is the van. That's not the actual van in the pic but is basically the same. The car IS the actual one I own.

He came up to the car and screams out............you stupid fuck, you bought a car with no back seat!!!!! No common sense. ROFLMAO. Sounds like the one I had - It was a 72, no backseat in it but had a 2.3Ltr Turbo engine in it and was capable of embarrasing a V8 in short order which it did many times.
I'd love to build another one like it, that car was so much FUN..... Best of all you could run hell out of it at the track on Sunday, and then go to work all week on the same tank of gas.... And quiet too, had the typical 4-banger sound going on so you'd never suspect what it really was if you didn't know.
BTW don't feel so bad Mr.Scott, this is my daily ride.....But it's a good one at least with the old warhorse parked behind it next to the shack.
Really need to get on getting that one back in shape.

That's incredible for a car in the rust belt. Whenever I take the Buick out it becomes the subject of conversation where ever I take it. Especially when I take it out to the gas station. There is usually a car guy around and inevitably when I come back from paying for the gas I have someone walking around the car admiring it. I have to be careful if you know what I mean.

Owned a 1970 GTO Judge for about 12 or so years. Ram Air IV stick car. Should have never got rid of it. Just like this one. View AttachmentSweeeet Ride ! We still have our 1970 Firebird Esprit, got it '77 had a 73 400 GP motor 350 tranny in it Drove it for few years{ 1981 } stripped all the paint and door mud, and only had to replace 1 full 1/4 panel got some Mil-Spec Zinc primer ,topped it with standard Rudy Brown primer LOL and rebuilt the 400/350 did lot of HO Racing mods to it mostly oiling work got an Erson 268 cam very "small, but had wicked design
Then drove it daily and raced it at local strip till 91.
Snagged a 455 outta a '73 Grand Saffari wagon, virgin did a quick "refresh" deglazed, rings, bearings ect and OMG that "small" cam was a Stump killer. I had 275 PSI Cranking pressure ! Geez from 1600 to 5k was wicked Then about 93 I pulled it out and had it all machined forged TRW did the crank oil passage mods, threaded the front galley plugs, 80 psi pump and took the set of 6x4 heads off a 350 Firebird i got at salvage yard Did the HO Porting and polish the ports, stock valves polished and shaved them ended with 88cc's so that got about 12:1 comp But i got 300 psi cranking pressure with such fast low lift intake fill." Some where in there I got a 800 CFM Quadrajet Man it was awesome. I got a 12 bolt outta 66 SS {Big car} and swapped it to leaf springs. Has 3.31 set in it, Great gear for street and strip AND it actually is just wide enough{59" vs 55"} to match the front track !
Only did hi 13's, but it would hook on street about as good at track, so it was feisty, kinda quick for the day, but also fast as hell, maxed out in less than 1/2 mile {6,000 rpm} stock 1250 convertor
I pulled it out a few years ago and freshened it all up, and snagged a RAIV cam for it, and my old B&M 3500 stall from the 80's just waiting to get better to finish her all up
Also in 83 picked up a nice 72 Esprit driver and so wife had a matching ride, but 85 I did the body up had got a pair of rare 71 "rectaingle extractor " front fenders and had it all painted in 78 TA Iridescent Aquamarine blue
But best of all a buddy at work Loved to drive my car, and he was like Build me 1. Long story shot I built him a Butler BBC 6.800 rod stroker { crank turned to 2.200 offset} with "Street 300cfm" edelbrock heads custom Ross{455} pistons, RPM cam, RPM intake and fukme it was Nasssty. He spent a good 8 k in parts for it. Sadly he passed away years ago and another buddy got it from his parents, people was low balling them , $500 ect, I was like Oh hell no the Intake and oil pan cost that alone. They got 3600 from the friend
Theres far more to all that but, Yep i'm a Poncho Fanatic !
