This is what I have been doing for insulation of late. In the first pic below what I do is put paper towel in the unused ram slots and between the Ram slots with nitrogen you tend to get water forming in there. Next I take off the Mosfet/Northbridge heatsinks and coat there with vasaline I actually coat from the backplane connectors to around the ram slot making sure I get a good seal along the bottom of the first ram slot and from the top of the board down to the second PCIe 1x slot I am going to freeze the card as well. after I paint the Vaso on I run over it with a heatgun to smooth it out. Next I flip the board over and coat with vaso roughly the same area as the top then I sit it on the closed cell foam pad with my backing plate and studs sticking through it. That gives a pretty well airtight seal on the back of the board. Next I slip my Closed cell foam pads down on the studs and put the Pot on, it seals the CPU area off airtight I have never had any water in around the CPU when I tear them down using this method.

Next we put the ram in and more rolled paper towel down between the the ram sticks to seal that area off pretty well and seeing as we are going to freeze the Graphics card as well we roll up paper towel and seal that area around the slots as well. Also a couple of turns of paper towel around the pot itself its amazing how that stops condensation forming on the outside of the pot. This is a split pic showing the piece of shamwow cloth that will go in there too.

Next comes the card which is pretty easy. I am using an Asus R9-290 and the Tek9 Fat that I won in last years Country Cup First I coat the small surface mount chips on the actual GPU with Liquid Electrical Tape then I paint on Vaso all over the card from the backplane connectors out to the VRM cooler. Now I mount the pot on Next I smear a thick coat of Vaso on the back of the card and hit it with the heat gun again. A bit of vaso in the slot and its ready to go when its running I get a big frozen round ice patch on the back of the card as long as it doesnt melt its OK.

very nice guide, i'll definitely follow it next time i do dice. First time i did it i forgot to insulate the bottom of the board and ended up with a big ice cube under the cpu socket. luckily the board survived, sometimes i got more luck than brains
