So I was on a forum that will remain unnamed. I had difficulty finding out what ATi/AMD bios file belonged to a particular memory on a 5750 because the file didn't have the name of memory in its contents like newer Bios Files for say a 7970, 290 etc. Well I started comparing sub system IDs, and it would appear the number 48 was the same between the old cards bios and new cards bios, the new card bios had the name of Ram used, that happened to be Hynix. I'm looking for some confirmation if this is true that we can use subsystem IDs to determine what brand of memory is on a gpu.
bones and Mr.Scott what yall think

You'd probrably have to compare several BIOS files confirmed as coming from a card with Hynix VRAM, then compare with other BIOS files from the same make and card model with the other VRAM chips. That's all I've got.

I suppose it's a possibility, but I know they recycle IDs between series's so I wouldn't put too much stock in it. You would have to do much research.

Well the newer card had 348 in the sub id and the old card had 148,that seems to be the missing link.
Machine code really has me intrigued.
