I'm glad you're okay Jonnie. We're fine here too but also have several trees down. I can hear city crews outside with chain saws cutting them right now. My neighbors two doors down has roof damage and broken window seals on the upper floor. Water damage in his kids room. But they are fine other than that. Will no more of the extent of all the damage around here as morning approaches.
They say this storm was moving thru our area at 50-60 miles per hour. Fast furious storm.

The trees at the back of the property are all just about snapped in half. Beautiful maple at the property line to the UP snapped clear in half. Was my favorite tree in the yard.
Up the street an electrical fire and lots of downed trees and branches everywhere.
Nobody hurt as far as I know. The entire downtown block is out of power.

Glad to hear you and yours are OK after this. We had a strong T-Strom come through earlier ourselves but nothing like this.
I do hope your home didn't take any damage from it, just bites when the home gets it.

Some lady was driving right outside our house when the tree broke. Power line went down right in front of her. From the sounds in the basement the boys and I heard and the outside spiket snaped off inside on the other side of the wall made quite an experience. I truly thought the branch came in through the house. Closed the valve off on the pipe and that stoped the water. The tree took the electric pole off the side of the house. Scared the crap out of my 6 year old lol. http://instagram.com/p/BoKu0DZBimb

You guys got the brunt of it by you Jon. It was dying down some by the time it got to us but man those winds. They say you guys got 75MPH wind gusts. Sheesh. It's eerily quiet here now. Not as much as a breeze and it's real cool out.

Some one was saying microburst of wind. Ive never heard of it, but Im a believer now.
It was strange when the alert came on the radio. They didnt even mention my village and tornado sirens going off in other towns but our alarms did not sound.
The front door howled worse then I ever heard it before and shot the boys downstairs. It came and went within 120 seconds or so. 10 minutes the rain just about stopped.
But yea there are other people have it much worse than we got.

Thanks guys. Talked to an officer this morning and nobody in town got hurt. One man reported a tree came through the roof and landed next to his bed. He wasnt laying in it, but still scary. I have a very large mess. Any one looking for fire wood, I have lots and lots. Off to work to get my chains.....

I like chain saws and cutting wood. Nice weather for it today too.

More people got hurt removing timber then when the storm hit. Some guy fell off the dang roof... Havent heard of chain saw accidents yet thankfully. I have a few more picture. Gotta upload them when I get a chance Ill place the link here. 5 other villages will be in town tomorrow to help clean up. You can view the Chicago channel 2 news and 7. That video above made it on channel 2 and the boys and I was in the basement while she was parked out front. Ive put about 14 hours of work in so far. Another full day of recovery tomorrow.

Yeah Jon I know what you mean about those chain saw accidents. I once watched a fella cut off the branch that was holding up his ladder two stories up in a tree. I yelled and yelled up to him to try and make him realize what was about to happen but he couldn't hear me over the noise of the saw. Thank goodness the saw had a safety on it and turned off as he tumbled down. He lived. But there was a long recovery process after that. Long hours and stress can make bad things happen.

Yay. Got power and internet now!
Just finished capping the broken pipe and all is getting back to normal. Just a hole in the roof over the porch, some sophet and facia damage and a few tons of timber remaining...
