Killed a whole stack of DDR2 today. Maybe not just today. Might have thrown some of these back in the drawer dead a while ago. In any case, they're all dead. Set of G.skill 1100 Pi's 2 sets of random Corsair 1066's Set of G.Skill crap 1066 Set of 1100 Dom's Set of Patriot 1066's Scan them for unprotected SPD chips

Getting harder and harder to find good DDR2 that hasn't been beaten to death already. I need a couple better sets than what I have left here. Looking for something that'll do 1300 or better @ CAS5.

You can check my GKX vs GMH thread for partnumbers and ask local e-recyclers / resellers who gut out systems. Might want to move known good SPDs over tho, to fully unleash potential. I can also offer you to send a kit or two over once Ive binned mine all. I think Ill end up with enough stock to hand some out. With ddr2 it seems its best to have a few backups.

Looks like I may have pulled off yet another Fronkensteen here with one of my boards. It's a Gigashiite 754 board that's been dead for a few years. Was doing jack but now at least it's giving a picture - Corrupted but it's there.
Let it take a trip through the dishwasher earlier and then dry out in the oven on low heat today and that seemed to make a difference, will fire it up again a little later and see if it gets better or not.

It lives! Finished working with it and after a few tries I figured out the AGP card is acting up, switched to a PCI card and it does fine.
Need to set it up fully and see what it can do - I recall it being OK, not great but good enough to mess with.
EDIT: I also fixed one of my NF4X boards too, one that's been on the fritz for awhile now. If I can get the one I've been using as of late going again it will be all aces here. Doesn't want to do anything ATM but there is hope for it.

Socket 754 motherboards, functioning, those have become rare nowadays . CPUs came out after mid yr 2003

Yes, I'm fortunate to have a few good ones that still work. Three out of the four that do I had to fix within the last two weeks but got it done.

Killed a Asus DCII GTX 770 today I was getting 129000 marks in 3D03 with a 1000mhz core clock and I wanted to see if it would do 1040 like my GTX580 DCII I turned the voltage to 1.42v and it died halfway through the benchmark so I thought epower I pulled the chokes and thought to measure the resistance between the power output and ground and its a dead short. The GPU must be shorted itself so in the bin it goes and I have just bought a pair of Gigabyte GTX 770 super overclock will be interesting to see if I can get them over 1000mhz. Oh and I think I killed my P4C800E Deluxe yesterday but they can drop out at anytime not to worry its part of the game.

P4C800 is a tough loss. I've gone through 6 of those myself.

I know I have gone through more than 6 I have got a P4C800 Deluxe here I have never tried it I also bought another P4C800E deluxe about a month ago from Russia it hasnt left the country yet probably something to do with the virus. I bought a Asus A7N8X about a month ago too I got plans of epowering the CPU on it did you see Terraraptors post on Bot where he had one doing 272 bus the other day it was impressive.

My old reliable Ultra D went up in a blaze of glory today. Puff o smoke, lights out, that's all she wrote. Fortunately I have a brand new SLI D to take it's place. I'll be on the lookout for an Expert board to replace it.

That sounds soo much like things I would enjoy to be a part of. Any chance to read or see more about your journey? Maybe give us a little story once you made it there I might be weird for this but I get all tingly when I think about a cascade for temps this low. Amazing composition of engineering and tinkering.

One of my EP45-Extremes just broke. No idea why it was my non insulated board that never went subzero. I ran on ambient water with safe voltages on a new Q9550 I just bought and tried to find the FSB limit. No voltage exceeded 1.3 It just suddenly locked up and refused to recover from there, post loops on default. I cut the power and now its back but for whatever reason it no longer accepts FSB clocks other then 333. It seems to be working fine but it just doesn't OC anymore. Any other setting works. I have an MSI XPower that has the exact same issue but on X58... So stupid, I tried bios reset and left it without power for a while. The FSB clock just doesn't come back. Whats funny is, it DOES seem to apply it as the FSB LEDs light up according to my setting but they instantly die during POST. EDIT: SetFSB spits out an SMBus error.

Single stage actually It is cooled with liquid nitrogen. I am working on the next version and will do a build log here. It works quite well for about an hour or two but the temps just freeze all the oil in the compressor so they die quite quickly. But it is a much cheaper way to get sub ln2 temps than liquid helium is.

I immediatly feared a hardware problem, since my X58 board does not come back no matter what.

Logitech M150 LS1 laser mouse. Left mouse button dead, confirmed. Had used this as my work commuting mouse and now at my WFH office. At 1st thought it was the mouse pad causing inaccuracy, but eventually "point&select" quit completely.

Today I think I killed my first reliable SSD... OCZ 120GB Vertex3
I've been moving it between 3 system today.. trying to get Win7 on my x570. 2 of the systems are setup with Hot-Swap trays (MB set to hot-swap as well) and then it just stopped popping up in to windows.
There is a light at the back next to the SATA port. before it was just green, but now it's green and red... I think I might have killed. her...
To bad... this drive was my go-to for odd work... I guess one of the other drives are going to get a promotion...

Try secure erase before you toss it. I would but it's not being recognized in the bios or in windows, I wsa reading about a FW update also fixes it, but I don't understand how people do that when it doesn't come up.
I'll put the PCB connections under the scope. very small possibility that i flexed the connector. highly unlikely, but they are flimsy the way they connect them
