I got 2 ddr2 2x1gb kits, both patriot's Viper fin series. Believe or not, this kits are NEW, never oppened. I bought them on mercado livre(ebay from latin américa) from a guy from São Paulo. I decided to ask the seller about the kits history because they were unopened NEW kits, and he told me they were from a store that went bankrupt 8 years ago, and the kits were never sold. I paid something like ~38 bucks shipped for both kits. One of the kits is PC2-8500 rated at 5-5-5-15 2.3v and the other one is PC2-9200 5-5-5-12 2.3v. All 4 ram modules uses Micron D9 chips, so i decided to bin and pick the 2 bests. How i did this: CPU: e8400 Mobo: Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p Generic custom water cooling cpu multi: 7x Mem strap: 400mhz 3.33D (3:5 cpuz) Stability test: Superpi 32M Picked up one of the 1150mhz module and set it to its rated timings: 5-5-5-12 but dropped the voltage to 2.2v. Subtimings on auto. Started it by just raising fsb until system could not boot into windows anymore (BSOD). Adjusted the timings to 5-6-6-15 keeping 2.2v. Raised again fsb until BSOD, dropped 5mhz fsb, get into windows and tried to run sp32m. If could not pass ("NOT EXACTLY IN ROUND" message), decrease 5mhz fsb and run it again until 100% clear sp32m run. I did this procedure with all modules. This are the results i got for now, will do a 2mhz more accurate bin step like Aleslammer did in his ddr2 binning thread. This was the first time i binned ram, so any advices are welcome

Noted in the last pic you had some instability going on indicated by it not showing the total amount of system RAM in the mem tab. Your first two shows the full 1024MB's worth but the last says you only have 620MB's in the system. You've got that RAM right on the edge as you had ran it.

You're right bones, didn't noticed that. I tweaked this XP on msconfig to recognize only 620mb, but now i'm in doubt if the correct is cpuz show the installed amount of ram or the os msconfig setting.

I have that exact same kit but in 2x1GB. I could not boot at 5-5-5-12-2T @ 2.3v. Even bumping my MCH up to 1.4v it was a no-go. I could at 5-5-5-15-2T @ 2.3V with everything on Auto. I could get to 624mhz at 5-6-5-18-2T @ 2.2v. Posted here; warp9-systems.proboards.com/thread/665/ep45-ud3l-q9650-ddr2-1150it's an odd set of memory. but I'm not a memory clocker.

I had that as well. it's how CPU-Z is reading it (with instability) if you Right-Click on My Computer and go to Properties, you'll see in Windows 1GB Memory (xxxMB Usable) which is what you set in MSconfig.
Windows isn't stable and CPU-Z's reading is a reflection of that.
