While many of you are aware that AI is just about everywhere you go, in particular your Cell phone. We can call cell phones mobile computers with a phone built in now'a'days.
Articifial Intelligence has been around for Decades, and is now on the horizon for deep (er) learning than eve before. Chat bots are 200 fold more intelligent than every. Tons of learning AI algorithms have been used, and as time goes on, the algorithms have gotten much better. Almost ever industry leader in just about everything has money tied up in AI.
But one of the things that is mostly attractive is the "deep learning" AI. It just soaks information like a sponge. But it's not just for learning. With learning comes problem solving at a new level. Super computers of today are much more powerful than 10 years ago or even 5.
"" A new range of high performance computing (HPC) storage solutions have been announced by Cray. This includes the Cray View for ClusterStor, which is said to considerably improve job productivity; the Cray ClusterStor L300N, featuring NXD flash accelerator software solution, that is capable of providing up to 10 times improvement in storage performance and the Cray DataWarp for the Cray XC50 supercomputer which can exponentially bring down data access time. ""
Outstanding we put AI in the cloud. The Neural Network is vast giving the software (AI) access to countless hardware and humans for interaction. While Cray is on the path with everyone else, we can expect in the next several years for AI to advance greatly. New applications will be created from purely Ai to help aid with all sorts of industries including life at home. We shall see the dawn of Artificial Intelligence lift off in the next 5 years and is to be said that AI may even be "singular" or "self aware" meaning that it's own thoughts will be similar to ours if not increasingly logical in a profound way.
Many people including top minds such as Musk and Hawking warn about unsupervised AI and the possible outcomes. And I may add not good outcomes. In time without care, we could see end results such as Terminator movies and so forth, but that seems to be a pretty far cry from today's AI while it can barely hold a conversation while it cannot detect sarcasm that many humans use quite often. So the responses now are little more than logical response to a logical question where AI can't tell if your actually series or not. That's all good and well, but looking at progress, it won't be long before they do recognize such human behavior and actually react in a human like way.
The AI of today and even last year is quite impressive! A brilliant example is when FaceBook shut down their AI while it started creating it's own basic language that only the two AI actually understood. It's seemed like a harmless simple chat while negotiating with one another. The only problem is that the Humans couldn't decipher the new language even though it was in english.
The Artificial conversation went as such. Remember only the bots understood each other but nobody but them really knows what they are saying!
Alice: balls have zero to me to me to me to me to me to me to me to me to

While the above was a year ago, other progresses are still underway. Military, Medical, industrial..... home.... everywhere. AI. You will see almost all the applications on refrigerators, phones, tablets, computers and so forth be very AI bound and start to learn your habits. You'll arrive at work and AI will likely punch you in. Get home and AI will turn the lights on and off for you. Granted most old homes will require a lot of upgrades, but within the next 25-50 years, we may start seeing homes, businesses run more efficiently from being able to monitor human's actions.
To me it's quite uncanny how Humans as we are will be outsmarted by the Processors we overclock here at Warp-9.

Hope the read tickled the mind a bit. It's something I take a fair amount of reading about. Quantum computing also. Imagine AI logically smarter than humans by a lot! A good example would be you compared to a chimp. The AI will be looking down at us.
So did Elon Musk say we are 1 in a billion chance we ARE living in a simulation or not....
