Our preference is android phones.
For the past few years weve purchased the LG Stylo line of phones. The "plus" versions of stylo 2 and 3 boast heafty octo core processors and decent VGA.
These phones are very decent for the pricing for med ranged phones.
I will edit this post later for better details and specs.....
So what android device do you have??

An old DB Power tablet that I can't root to do anything with. Probrably useless by now but it still works fine as is.

Galaxy S7 edge and a Asus Memo 572c tablet. Would love to update the tablet to Oreo or even Nuggat but I hard enough time getting it to lolipop. Wife has an S7 and daughter is rocking the S8. Maybe next year I will get the S10 or whatever it will be called.

First Android as a Samsung Galaxy S3, followed by an HTC One M8, then a Samsung S7 Edge and now... My Huawei P20 Pro, which I love. Well, the camera anyways, some UI things bug me My poor poor HTC was murdered (a full year and a bit of BOINC before battery bloated last year and popped the screen almost all the way out), while the S3's continue to do various research. Still debating about whether or not to put the S7 Edges onto the cooler and torture them (aka run BOINC on them until they die)

What I'd like to do is root the tablet I have and see what it's capable of since it's a quad core. ATM there isn't a way to root it so "Things" can be done with it , DB Power is a very obscure make but at least it does work as it was advertised to.

I share an account with my daughter in NY and just before she moved I updated my phone to a S9. Was having problems with my hearing aids so charged up the phone so I could possible see what was going on through the blue tooth connection, needless to say it took more than few hours to complete the upgrades after sitting for 3 or 4 months. At one point a screen came up telling me the phone was checking the installed apps, the number shown was in excess of 200, I've installed 3 personally on the phone. I really don't know how the OS works maybe its just OS based apps on the other hand bet there is a bunch that are more valuable to the app's creator than my actual need and or function of the phone. When I look at installed apps I can only see about 30 give or take a few.

It is OS bloatware. Just like PC's. You can scroll through all installed apps and remove or disable any that you'll never use.

I have a Ulefone Armor 6E with Android Pie 9 on it. I use it mostly for just phone calls and texting. I never like using internet on phones. Don't play games on phones either. The web pages never seem to show up like on a desktop. I'm as old as Moses so that may have something to do with it.

It is OS bloatware. Just like PC's. You can scroll through all installed apps and remove or disable any that you'll never use. Today got annoyed because "google assistant" wanted to make its presence known. I felt like WTF. Some functions or features are not possible to remove, while it is possible to uninstall many apps, and some can only be disabled, many are phone vendor dependent. This is very frustrating, the vendor is "training" a user how to use their preferred apps.
I find it is a waste of processing power and memory resources.

I'm "due" in October as per my carrier.. I'm still rocking my S9 and it's been great. I have no intention on upgrading.. will be nice to see a $30/month discount on my phone bill. starting in November...
I am so happy I didn't get the Huawei when I was shopping.. I was looking at the P30 at the time.. but I'm old school and I NEED a 3.5mm audio jack... I will never go wireless and I will not carry a dongle.. the day I have to do one of those two things is the day I no longer have a phone...
I don't have the discipline to charge things and those dongles are a pain in the ass... no thank you....

A bit thinking going with Android One OS, reduced amount of bloatware. Would also need 3.5mm jack and be less than say ~170g in weight. Having a 200g 6'5 in brick in the trouser pocket is not comfortable.
Think there are more phones coming out with Android One soon.

My employer is making arrangements for employees to have a 5G subscription and cellphone, and understandably this is vital for us and many as we work, due to the pandemic, e.g from home with items & business around the globe, with requirement for high bandwidth. The cable/wire connectivity is gradually being shut down in rural and semi-rural areas here. Will have to wait a while though to decide what would fit my usage.

well, our company policy re mobile phones have changed a bit, so we only have four models to choose from at the moment, two Samsung and two iPhone. Settled for a Samsung Galaxy S21 5G Enterprise Edition 128GB Phantom Gray.
ugh, can foresee the trouble again when making sure that nothing important gets lost when swapping from my old phone to the new one

Received the phone today. Transfer of stuff from old Sony Android 8 to Samsung Android 11 was easy.
Installed the smart switch app on Sony, hooked up the two phones between with USB-C and away it went. For wireless transfer, both phones need to be Samsung.

As my personal phone, used a Nokia 6.1 Android One, for a short while. Had a cracked screen after my sons army escapades, but still works. It only went up to Android 10. 32GB internal RAM. Today decided to give a try with my wife's ex-phone Samsung Galaxy A50 , 128GB internal. Android 11. Do not really like the S21 EE 5G, somehow too complicated (android 13?, and Samsung bloatware.) welp, let's see if I can get used to the A50.

I have used android forever. Started off with an iphone 2 or 3 , saw what a rip off and piece of shit it was and have used android since . You normally find lazy people using iphone who have no idea about software or the technical side of this sort of thing. .
