Galaxy S7 edge and a Asus Memo 572c tablet. Would love to update the tablet to Oreo or even Nuggat but I hard enough time getting it to lolipop. Wife has an S7 and daughter is rocking the S8. Maybe next year I will get the S10 or whatever it will be called.

I have got a Samsung S5 phone and Samsung Galaxy A4 tablet that my Telco gave me for being a good customer I looked at the tablet when I got it played with it for an hour and put it away I would have to look for it to find it.
Everything android here... LG4/LG5/BB Priv/ Multiple Samsung tablets (New and old for the kids by grandma) a few android boxes, and budget phones with no SIM's as travel tablets (again for the kids from grandma)
What I'd like to do is root the tablet I have and see what it's capable of since it's a quad core. ATM there isn't a way to root it so "Things" can be done with it , DB Power is a very obscure make but at least it does work as it was advertised to.
I share an account with my daughter in NY and just before she moved I updated my phone to a S9. Was having problems with my hearing aids so charged up the phone so I could possible see what was going on through the blue tooth connection, needless to say it took more than few hours to complete the upgrades after sitting for 3 or 4 months. At one point a screen came up telling me the phone was checking the installed apps, the number shown was in excess of 200, I've installed 3 personally on the phone. I really don't know how the OS works maybe its just OS based apps on the other hand bet there is a bunch that are more valuable to the app's creator than my actual need and or function of the phone. When I look at installed apps I can only see about 30 give or take a few.

I have a Ulefone Armor 6E with Android Pie 9 on it. I use it mostly for just phone calls and texting. I never like using internet on phones. Don't play games on phones either. The web pages never seem to show up like on a desktop. I'm as old as Moses so that may have something to do with it.
I'm "due" in October as per my carrier.. I'm still rocking my S9 and it's been great. I have no intention on upgrading.. will be nice to see a $30/month discount on my phone bill. starting in November...
I am so happy I didn't get the Huawei when I was shopping.. I was looking at the P30 at the time.. but I'm old school and I NEED a 3.5mm audio jack... I will never go wireless and I will not carry a dongle.. the day I have to do one of those two things is the day I no longer have a phone...
I don't have the discipline to charge things and those dongles are a pain in the ass... no thank you....
A bit thinking going with Android One OS, reduced amount of bloatware. Would also need 3.5mm jack and be less than say ~170g in weight. Having a 200g 6'5 in brick in the trouser pocket is not comfortable.
My employer is making arrangements for employees to have a 5G subscription and cellphone, and understandably this is vital for us and many as we work, due to the pandemic, e.g from home with items & business around the globe, with requirement for high bandwidth.
The cable/wire connectivity is gradually being shut down in rural and semi-rural areas here.
Will have to wait a while though to decide what would fit my usage.
As my personal phone, used a Nokia 6.1 Android One, for a short while. Had a cracked screen after my sons army escapades, but still works. It only went up to Android 10. 32GB internal RAM. Today decided to give a try with my wife's ex-phone Samsung Galaxy A50 , 128GB internal. Android 11.
Do not really like the S21 EE 5G, somehow too complicated (android 13?, and Samsung bloatware.)
zila1: I can't believe it's December. Where did the year go?? Damn. It's almost 2024.

zila1: It's kinda gloomy here. Rainy, cool. There's a chill in the air. Just had dinner. Butternut Squash and rice and beans. Pumpkin pie with cool whip. Having a beer now. Gonna have a shot too. It's one of those Saturday nights.

zila1: Sounds delicious Bones.

Bones: Good to hear it Zila, you deserve it. Picked up some 100 proof Southern Comfort earlier (Normally it's 70 proof) and got a carton of eggnog on standby..... You know what I mean. Even without the nog I'm all set here.

zila1: Some freshly brewed coffee and some Evan Williams Kentucky Bourbon. I had a nice time of it. Hope you fellas had a good one too.

zila1: I didn't make a Turkey this year. Too much work for me. I made a nice baked ham instead. So much simpler. Ham with pineapples and cinnamon and cloves. Roasted sweet potatoes. Homemade vanilla ice cream with fresh honey drizzled over the top for dessert.

freeagent: Thank you guys! She’s gonna keep on trucking for a bit. She is just sick of being sore, and tired of the struggle I think.

zila1: I and my family are sending you blessings and strength.

zila1: I didn't allow my parents to leave my side. I took responsibility for the both of them. No one touches my Mom or my Dad but me. Now my sister is here helping. It's very hard.
Nov 12, 2023 12:23:26 GMT -5
zila1: I think she's still here because she has me. But my Dad is heavy on her mind. They were together for 64 years. She is waiting her turn to join him.
Nov 12, 2023 12:21:16 GMT -5
zila1: Oh my goodness. I am so very sorry to hear this. I had never heard of this til now. I just lost my Dad two years ago and am caring for my 90 year old Mom. Trying to keep her upbeat is hard.

Vinster: I know it can be really hard, but try to put yourself in her shoes. I almost broke down when I put mine in my moms.
Nov 11, 2023 18:35:19 GMT -5
Vinster: I'm sorry to hear about what you are going though agent. my mom was talking about it too, her missing my dad (they hadn't been apart in nearly 50 years when my dad passed way), she just wanting to rejoin him. it's hard to watch.
Nov 11, 2023 18:33:16 GMT -5
Vinster: if then you qualify. then they would help you sleep permanently. because of backlogs and people leaving due to really painful illnesses.. people have been getting accepted for very odd reasons and the previously mentioned things are just not done.
Nov 11, 2023 18:29:54 GMT -5
Vinster: he's referring to a Doctors assisted suicide. In Canada, in the past it to be eligible you had to have a illness with a certainty of death (like stage 4 cancer), if it was depression or other debilitating illness, there was a 1 year psych exam to be sure.

zila1: What?? What are you talking about? House cleaning?
Nov 11, 2023 13:08:00 GMT -5
freeagent: My mom was talking about doing the MAID service. If you are unhappy with life for any reason and are too chicken to do yourself in, make an appointment with the government and they will put you down like an old dog. What the fuck man.
Nov 11, 2023 10:24:37 GMT -5
zila1: That's very true Jon.

ShrimpBrime: Me and Zila1 are lucky. There's a junk yard right here in town.

zila1: Bones: Yes, my old friend. Exactly right.
