Nice. I will play. I have a couple new boards I need to get through. Might be sliding back to modded NF7's over the Ultra B. The 2v vcore restriction really hurts that board.

Should be fun to watch this one. Yesterday I setup one of my A's and an NF7 to mess around with, got bored with the newer stuff and need to update a few scores anyway. Mac, if you run one of the AN7's let me know how they do for you - I've been curious on what you think of them now that you have these to use. CPU voltage won't be a problem with those at all, you'll have plenty to run or even fry stuff if you want.

NF7 I just pulled out and tested seems to be a goer. It's an older black dimm slot board. 250 FSB with no effort. I will armor and mod this board today. I'll post some pics.

Really need to get my carpal tunnel taken care of. Really need a couple of good XPM's too. Pretty much killed all my best ones.

It's pretty easy. Good chip + good ram + decent board will keep you in the game. Out of those three, I'm about 2 right now. Everybody has a chance.

I was too embarrassed to put up 33.06 @ 2608 2-2-2-4 I will try to not be so picky from now on.
@ Pete- PCI card over AGP? Does that help you out at all?

Doesnt seem to with this but does with P4C800 its sorta become my goto card for older systems. Actually you havent got a driver for MX400 PCI XP
Ah I thought weather to put it up and thought it might get some others to put some up.

Jr dont kill that board trying if you love it and its hard to replace. You need Abit or DFI Ultra B
I am setting up my old reliable NF7 now it goes better I havent given up on this one though it needs more mods namely VTT.

i gotta make a backplate for mine, the apogee gt plate has the holes but im guessin the water block isnt gunna fit coz of the 4 high caps near the socket so the water block top plate has to be modded or is there a specific water block and top plate for the NF7 , what was that other 462 board you gave me pete. dfi wasnt it, cant find it since the clean up

I struggle on bus speed ... all my attempts previous to this about 215 I've got one of those too but in the non-sata -L flavor. I think the best I could get out of mine was 234 @ 1.8V VDD for a valid, for actual benching it had a hard time doing over 210 or so for some reason. This makes me want to get it back out again and do some more with it using my UTT or CH-5 mems.

I'm not sure what ram does in this scenario. But testing last year " lower multi 8 " bus speed could be higher. The good black Corsair cas2 rams, review said fsb or about 438 iirc & they fall over. So my logic is " rams hold it back " never really tried other sets as I was still collecting a heap of them. But I get there is a ratio to set bios, to lessen the timings/ speed of ram for higher fsb. Experimentation to do. Then you see mods Captains are doing & you understand the extra volts afforded to drive rams harder. No possible way I can see to match that with default 2.8v iirc

No possible way I can see to match that with default 2.8v iirc Always keep your RAM ratio at 1:1, any less kills performance with an A. What you need is a set that will clock up with the bus period. A really good set of TCCD or BH5's are the ticket so if you have a set that can get about 260 or better with tighter timings, that will do it.
