Man people are eating up old game system remakes. BUT WHY??? you can emulate almost all the classics on the PC or your Android device. Blue tooth controller and your set. For example the remake = 60$ comes with 30 games which is pretty cool. But still. You can have all this literally FREE via emulation.....lol www.nintendo.com/nes-classic/

I've tried them before and they weren't all that, not to mention some of thjem are just plain a real PITA to get working correctly. Emulators also don't always play ROM's perfectly, in some cases depending on the ROM not at all. Many emulators out there are homebrewed and while that's nice it doesn't mean it's worth getting. The wife got me one of the SNES Classic consoles as a very early Christmas present and it's been great so far. Way easier, it's small (compact) and plays just like the original.

Yea the original once the game was a few months old had to re-insert the cartridge multiple times. Sometimes resulting is lines all over the place or... not at all.. Hahaha. The good old days.
I've emulated quite a few different systems and many games on each. Not sure what you mean by extra stuff? DOS emulation and gaming is so awesome. NES and SEGA on the phone. Sure not all the games work, it depends on who copied the ROM and if they did it correctly.
I can see it being really cool toy. But we have already 2 XBOXs on two different TVs. The living room I installed a Ryzen set up for pretty cheap and it's the fastest rig in the house. Even more responsive than my i5 4690K if you want all honesty. Any how, that Ryzen set up is used more than the consoles. I play old stuff and they look at me and tell me how boring it is.... Dang kids. always talking smack!

Bugs, viruses, malware..... Stuff. Have one of the original SNES systems here I've had since it was brandnew and it still works fine to this day. Back then for me it was a way to pass/kill time and I've never really gotten away from them much. It's just nice to sit back and do some gaming on the classic stuff.

I have a bunch of original consoles, I run many emulators on PC (picked up a bunch of USB controllers not long ago). granted Emulators work 90% of the time. I can't get Contra, Super Contra, Mike Tysons' Punch-Out working on the NES emulators I have. I've tried a few and a few different EMU' files.. and nothing... just wont do it.
and getting an original cartridges is just difficult and way too expensive
that's where these boxes come in handy imo.
