it's looking like my daughters e7500 rig is starting to blitz on her. I've gone through it an it's looking like most of the stuff she's doing now is getting too taxing for her system or it just can't plain out do it anymore.
The current rig is an e7500, 1GB DDR3-1066, nVidia GT-210-1GB GPU, 40GB SSD, mATX MB in a small Inwin Case.
I want to build her a new rig, something that will last her 4-6years. So I'm looking for at least a quad core, 8GB of RAM, I have a spare 120GB SSD and I'd like to reuse the case so the MB needs to be an mATX or smaller. and I think for her and simplicity I'd prefer onboard graphics but would like the MB to have a PCIE port for a possible future upgrade. The GT-210 I have no idea its condition. I've had it a while before passing it to her so for that I'd rather not re-use it.
I'd like to keep it all under $500 CAD... that's the trick... CAD
initially was thinking of an AMD rig, and I was thinking a Ryzen 1400 but that series doesn't have built-in graphics yet and adding the cost of a GPU to the build is looking like too much.
it seems that all the other AMD's are antiquated I think... I can't seem to find anything designed within 2016.. everything I seems to find are older. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Then that brings me to Intel... an i5-7400 has built in graphics, but is priced high. I an get a MB (thinking Asus) for under $100 and and RAM for again under $100...
But would that CPU be future proof enough for her until she gets old enough to need a laptop?
looking forward to your suggestions.

Vin if you are gonna have $200 in mobo and mem like that I would try for a 7600k it has built in graphics and would prob last a lot longer then a 7400 I know the 7600k is like $50-60 more but Im sure it would work very well I think I paid $120 or $130 for the MSI Z270M mortar mobo I got for my wife's aunt PC the prob with those parts its prob gonna be closer to $600 CAD the damn 7600k from NCIX is $320 CAD and mobo is $180 CAN damn man yalls dollar is only 0.74 USD just that shit there takes up your whole budget that is with no mem for $90 CAD you would get 8GB mem but like I said that pushes your budget to $600 mem www.ncix.com/detail/kingston-hyperx-fury-black-8gb-27-111308.htm?promoid=1388CPU www.ncix.com/detail/intel-core-i5-7600k-processor-6m-29-137590.htm?promoid=1388mobo www.ncix.com/detail/msi-z270m-mortar-matx-lga1151-0d-138265.htm?promoid=1388

ya, that combination puts me at over $600CAD + 13% tax, $675 I was thinking an i5-7400 ($245) - www.ncix.com/detail/intel-core-i5-7400-processor-6m-40-137593.htmMB - Asus H110M (can't find it at NCIX) ($75) - www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132871and RAM there are a lot of combinations of 2x4GB DDR4 that range between $75-95.. hoping near the $75 area... but I'm having issues finding sticks that are in this MB's QVL so that would put me at $415 and after the 13% tax I'm at $469. with this MB, if the SSD dies then I'd get her an M.2 replacement so an upgrade. If the onboard GPU would get taxed I can add a dedicated GPU... so with this I think it's upgradable enough to last 4-6 years, if need be... one question I have, with the new MB's I see this one might need a Bios upgrade for this CPU... will the bios post with this CPU so I can update it? or are you bricked until you install a native bios CPU to upgrade the Bios to install the new CPU? I remember those cluster fuck days. but I always had a slew of CPU's so it was never an issue... here I don't have that luxury. Vin

Vin yea I dunno about that with the bios I remember before back in the day that shit wouldnt post unless you had a CPU that went in there before and updated you can always spend $15 more and get a B250 mobo and it will deff work with that CPU www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130991

sockets after 775.. I fucking hate Gigabyte.... 2 MB's they left me hanging in RMA's... 2 boards that wouldn't post or had SATA issues and they returned the boards to me "Tested OK". I used different RAM Sticks, Different CPU's and Different SSD/HDD's and these 2 boards are still bricked.... HTF did they test them? The last board Gigabyte Board I bought was for my folks (in the midst of these RMA's) AM3+ board with a 970 chipset... the NB temps were hitting 75-80 degrees on idle... using the system they'd climb to 90-100 degrees... Contacted support... "That's Normal" I get that the chip can run at up to 120 Degrees... but shit... not 24/7... I swapped out the cooler with a bigger one and used good TIM... now idle is between 45-55 and running hits 75 degrees.... They just don't give a shit anymore... I'll buy a used 775 board because those P35/45/X43's put them on the map and imo they haven't given a shit since. sorry for the rant, that twitched a nerve Vin
