HAPPY CAMPER, picked up a AN7 w/ XP 2500 & 2 sticks of RAM (said Corsairs turned out to be Samsung) $35 bucks shipped. Problem they shipped it with the HS attached and while going from Arizona to Calif broke 4 of the 6 lugs off the socket. Remembered I had a bolt through HS stashed when I got home from work today, loading XP as I type only thing I've done is replaced to battery. All the caps looking great and so far not a hiccup (crossed fingers).

Nice! Thing's a battery sucker. OC starts to act funny when the battery gets below 2.9v
I have any modded bios you want for that board.

Game for a BIOS, not sure what I need with an any in your post.
Remember that statement about the battery from CP, got a few in the fridge.

Not a good one and wire management sucks. It is a lot of fun but have to have better cooling.

Got two GTSs, a Compaq and Chaintech the first isn't worth the power to make it go. Will say I like the board BIOS is really nice compared to the Asus's I've used.
Question, been so long whats the max you can go on vcore on air?

I would say 1.85v with a good cooler I dont do air though.

Depends on the cooler mostly. I've gone 2 volts on just air plenty of times. Gotta keep it under 50c. The lower the better.

Been messing around with one of mine and a XP 3100+ Thorton chip I picked up recently. Gonna give WPrime a shot for gold later, probrably on my next off day which would be Tuesday for me.

I can say at this point all 4 of my AN7's can go at least 237 on the bus which is a good thing. Some can be stubborn to clock up but lucked out with these it seems but I know a good one will top 240 no prob. Been testing the ones I really haven't had a chance to sort out - At least two of the three tested will do 240 minimum with the third a possibility but need cooler temps to really know. Could be affected by the higher temps I'm now seeing as the norm in the shack for this time of year..... But again the other two had the same temps to deal with, I'm hoping it will respond well with lower temps later but for now any cooler weather is largely gone and the hot stuff is only about a month away. These three boards to me are still largely an unknown but the untested fourth is a definite runner - Got it from SA years ago and it tops 240 like it's nothing so no need to wonder about it. Speaking on the mentioned 3100+ chip I set it up with one of my Infinity's this morning and prepping to turn it loose for gold. Ale, once you learn the board you'll like it alot - Largely hassle-free OC'ing if the pieces used with it are capable and the board can handle the OC'ing abuse. I will however throw out a word of caution - Be careful in how you handle/store the board, it has some resistors and caps on it's backside that's suspectible to getting knocked off if mishandled. Two of these I fixed had that exact problem, one with this being THE cause of it not working and it was sold to me as a non-working board on fleabay because of it - That was a nice score for me and just passing this along to you for reference sake.

HS might of been good in it's day but definitely needs water, jury rigged a block using the mounting holes on a Asus a few years ago but took a while to get it right and had to disassemble the setup to bare board to change CPUs which was a pain. The only problem is finding a CPU that hasn't been benched by someone I know and those that haven't are not on Ebay at all/reasonable prices or state side, although located a Athlon MP 2600+ (TB) this morning that I thought was a good find.
Thanks for the words of caution have packing boxes just little larger than a MB I line with a couple layers of anti-static bubble wrap for storage.

I offered $15 on that a while ago. He didn't take it. Chip is pretty beat up to offer more. Lots of chips in the die and a big scratch all the way through the PCB right to the copper.

You pretty much have to. The AN7 boards were never really FSB screamers, so you had to make up ground in other areas when comparing them to say, a NF7 or DFI board. If your board will do 250 or better, you got a good board. Most average around 235. The AN7 is more stable than both of those boards though. For CPU frequency validations, this is my goto board. PI goes on the Ultra B, and everything else goes on the NF7. That's how I usually roll.

For example my first spi32 try was succeed, running perfectly till the end. Did the settings, finished with tweaker and started spi32. I was looking the screen when the hated window comes, but the only thing I could see how the number of passed rounds raising ! At the end asked me : Do we have anything to do ? The higher ram voltage barrier is really a blessing ! Because of this I was able to use tight timings with high fsb even.
