I have it on a couple of firestix with firetv-guru at the house, but I feel they run a bit slow maybe just to much on those poor things so I will be getting the 2017 nvidea shield. Will be putting on the new Krypton. Instead of putting in someone elses pre-configured build like Beast or what ever, I Want to try n put together the ultimate build of my own for it. I know it can handle all that I want, just not sure as to what are the best add-ons or how to do it. So I Wanted an opinion from someone close to home instead of asking in a bunch of unfamiliar forums. I want to put on ALL the must have add-ons . Will be also streaming HD movies from my external sources. Make sense?

sorry for the delay, RL is beating me up..
Kodi with streaming 720p+ content needs to be half-descent hardware. I tried running it with a (Win7 Pro) 775 setup (e7500, 1GB RAM, 1gb gpu) and it struggled. I've read people run it with a RasperryPi and ran well with Kodi's build. But I myself have not tried that.
I couldn't imagine it run well on a firestick.

Actually it runs very very well on Firestick. I have 2 of em. My biggest issue is the wireless lag/buffereing, other then that its great, just want more power to do more. Kodi is able to run 1080p content with no issues on firestick. Coupled with the shield ( and a few other devices) can stream in 4K.

There are a few YouTube videos to fix excessive buffering. Google around and you should find it easy. I'd link one but going off my phone isn't easy.
