Was using W7 32 for some benching and seemed it was doing all right for WP with a Celeron D so while setting up for S1156 did a little OS testing. Average of 5 runs, ran one run for PF, SP1 & WP32 before recording results. OS's all setup for benching as well as the BIOS, just let the hardware determine memory and CPU settings. Results, Bench – XP 32 – W7 32 – W7 64 (spread high to low) Pifast – 30.732 (0.03) – 30.686 (0.33) – 30.862 (0.47) SuperPi 1m – 14.3718 (0.016) – 14.4300 (0.030) – 14.4398 (0.140) wPrime 32m – 16.1966 (0.032) – 16.6958 (0.232) – 16.7710 (0.076) CieneBench 03 – 1278.8 (18) – 1294.3 (3) – 1288.2 (15) Results, Bench – XP 32 – W7 32 – W7 64 [32 Bit App] – W7 64 [64 Bit App] CieneBench 11.5 – 2.324 (0.01) – 2.306 (0.02) - 2.310 (0.02) – 2.464 (0.03) GeekBench 3 – No Install – 4071.8 (11) - 4062.6 (20) – 4379.4 (26) Really don't know how it will look after things get cranked up and generally not anything here out of place, just had never done a comparison on my own hardware. I have heard of people using W7-32 for certain benches never tried it myself though.

Put up a few S1156 subs and did a little comparison and those OS's from the test were better but still getting use to the platform.

I had read that Win7 was best for wPrime.. interesting that wasn't the lowest in your test.

I'm with Scott and generally have fairly good results with XP but have had certain combinations of hardware do better with W7. Could be the XP install is just getting abused more so bench both OSs for wPrime to cover the bases.

Could be the XP install is just getting abused more This is what I usually find when my Wprime scores go bad.
