I'm upgrading my cpu for mach3 from a 486 running xp to a cpu running widows 7 w/o a parallel port and adding a ess smooth stepper. My bob is from longs motors.I have the ss talking to the cpu and the green led on top is on continuously and the bottom is blinking. If i jog the axis from mach3, i see the readout move numbers the the motor does nothing. when adding an ess to the system do the port and pin settings change? mach3 does recognize the smooth stepper but what am I missing? I'm getting really frustrated because this is the 3 or 4th time I've tried to better my system and it just does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

From what I gather, the firmware is not loaded. If it is, the jumper must be moved off of setup to the run position.

Took me a little searching to get an idea of what you are talking about, smooth stepper is a product of Warp9 Tech Design so may need another forum for answers, generally speaking Warp9-systems is more along the lines computer overclocking.

I have the users manual pdf, unfortunately our little forum doesn't allow larger than a whole mb.
Do a goodle search on your product and you should be able to find the information for the ESS.
Good Luck!
