Wanted to do a throw back of PCMark 05 with essentially an un-official bench-off. This is only for fun, not direct competition. Start Date now - Ends never Rules, NONE - Any system, any cooling, any configuration. No HDD limitations (increases greatly the score, but that's the point of having fun!!) Background is optional. URL link optional. Participation is optional. OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!  |

So after some thought and trying to run it on modern hardware, this benchmark is open indefinitely. No assigned close date, so if you want to rock out a score and have legacy hardware brewed up for benching, feel free to post it here.
Given enough entries through time, I will divide the scores by platform and split them up and add to the original post.

I'm getting XP installed on my AGP test bench this weekend soooo I'm down for legacy hardware. Still need a faster CPU, seller of the 4800+ x2 send me a 4000+ and ran lol. Charge back for the win. |

Hi Can I make a suggestion please. Can the next comp be any 3D mark. I had trouble running PC mark and think more people would get involved with 01 , 03 , 05 , 06 , aqua , 3d11 or vantage  |

It is a long outdated benchmark and legacy HW is not the first choice of benchers ( nor the second ). |

Let me make something very clear.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM with legacy HW. I love it.
But, try benching 3D with legacy 2D HW. Result will be 00.

From my own subs, all were done on W7 that I found and either a GTX 280 or a HD 6970 and done with 2 SSDs. Pete was on W7 with a better VGA and storage with the same CPU (E6700) and needless to say farther up the food chain. Hard to search the bench. Sure, the bench was long gone by the time I started using W10. Have some AM4s coming up, all going to be on W10 will see how it goes.
Have to have Pete or Frank chime in about XP or W7, both were a lot better than I with the bench.

I always ran W7 its all in the tweaks I will run 4790k with Acards catch me if you can.  Actually I think I stole a memory module out of one of the Acards for a repair. any set of DDR2 memory modules will do. |

Couple of scores to check CPU scaling, didn't realize I was running 2 cores until I was resizing the SS's to upload here. VGA is real weak and only running 1 SSD. Was a pain to get running right, forgot about needing to load a media encoder. The MS default VGA driver doesn't work for it either. W7   |

Where can anyone see PC mark 05 rankings ? I searched but nothing. There aren't any rankings searchable, can still see the bench show up in your CPU listings if you ran it during the day and will show other scores for that CPU. |
