I know there are blocks from back in the day that fit the FX cards but was there any made for the FX5950 or 5900 ultra? like a full cover block?

Not likely Austin. At least I can't recall this being a thing back then.
Besides, running memory naked is just fine as long as there's a fan on them. You wouldn't want to push vmem that hard on hw this old in my opinion. It's a rare non replaceable item.

I know of the Gainward coolfx card and a few multi block setups. the Gainward is aluminum soooo yeah. I just wanted a block for my old retro gaming PC, not for benching, I would not want to push a 5950 ultra hard at all. Unless maybe if it was dying already.

If there is one... where could we find it?? Good point 😂 I'd put one of those Chinese 40mm cross drilled blocks on the card but IDK if such a block would cut it.

I'll have a look through my stuff and see if there's something you could retro-fit on it. Probably not, but I'll look for a block.

TBH I rather not retro fit and find something from the time the card was new. I have a MCW82 I could modify and put on it if I wanted to. But thanks for the offer. I play games on the system a lot and I don't want to deal with something thats rigged up.

I have chose to make a DIY block for the card. I'm still in the planning stages but I'll have it started the second I find a good chunk of copper

Universal Chinese block would be fine....and cheaper. I have a 40x40mm copper one and it's kinda toasty on the card. I saw better ones with mounts that fit the card but I wanted something that looked more period correct. That and I kinda just want to make a block 😆

I'm actually surprised it even needs water. Mine runs cool as a cucumber even with a big overclock.

ended up deliding the card and wow. ideals 1c over room temp with a 40mm block and mid 40c under a load. The IHS sure was warped.
