Wow, I totally missed it in the description. sorry about that and feel a little stupid.
I can't really find much on that GPU, oddly enough it's not listed on HWB either. They show the mobility X1050 then the X1300 and up. But where the x1250 comes up is as an Xpress X1250, but the datasheet doesn't list it as an Xpress. What I can't on the Xpress X1250 is that is it only had a max of 128BM of memory. But the lappy datasheet shows shared up to 831MB...
one thing I found is that nearly all resources on the GPU are linked to the motherboard.
by any chance can you increase the blk in the bios (I doubt you could being a Toshiba). the GPU lists a 500mhz core, 400Mhz Memory, I'd think that GPU would have some ratio to blk and that GPU core would increase if you could raise the blk. just a hunch
and searching on the bot, I only found 1 sub that looks like it was somehow Overclocked.. look at the GPU core..

Inspite it having a 5400 rpm drive it runs fine, ofc the ram is maxed out at 4G
Ya, the max mem of 4GB is really a bummer.
Vin
as a Follow up, i perused the bios, it is very basic and has no means of adjusting any clockspeeds, heck it doesnt even have the ability to specify how much ram should be reserved for the igp, Id need a overhauled bios that unlocks those options but unless if i have a plcc bios chip to swap, im not going down that path for the time being
ShrimpBrime: It would be easier than making acrylic for sure.

austin86: I did think about getting a brass/copper or stainless plate and making a top like what you stated. I might have one setting around out in the scrap pile.

ShrimpBrime: I have a custom block that has a steel plate with barbs brazed on. (As an idea for ya)

austin86: Does anyone know where I can get some very thick acyilc or lexan or something like that to make a custom top for a water block?

ShrimpBrime: Not all AM2 processors are soldered. Brisbane 6000+ 65w is not, Windsor 125w 6000+ is soldered. The Brisbane chips do run a bit cooler, but hit or miss on overclock-ability. I had a couple Brisbane chips that where complete dogshit OC.

austin86: thanks for the info. I was tossing around getting a am2 board with a 6400+ knowing what is an is not soldered will help a lot as the blocks I want to use are a little on the weak side

ShrimpBrime: Even Opteron is not soldered. They started Soldering chip on AM2 such as Windsor 6000+ and 6400+. Socket 1207 are probably soldered, but I've never had the platform to confirm or deny this fact. If you find something, please add it here.

austin86: sweet, even the opterons? what about socket F chips too ? I'm upgrading my retro gaming PC again.

ShrimpBrime: None are soldered. Have at it.

austin86: can any 939 CPUs be delided ? or are they soldered ?

eidairman1: My engine is closed up, 1 step closer, now waiting on my friend to get a coworkers basket case tpi gen 3 camaro out of shop (needs front suspension work)

zila1: It was beautiful today Jon. I washed my cars and installed a new radio in my van. Then went to Kostas in Algonquin for a beef sandwich. Great day.

ShrimpBrime: Finally some nice weather. Power washing the siding. Lookin new again!

zila1: Thank you so very much Scotty. That's so nice of you but I'm good. I was just shopping around and thought I would look at EVGA stock. That is a nice PSU though.

Mr.Scott: Eddie, I have a NIB Seasonic Focus 650 I can send you if it fits the bill.

zila1: Honestly, I wouldn't buy anything from them now. Even if I could buy now, I don't think they will be around for warranty.
Mar 30, 2024 12:37:50 GMT -5
zila1: Looks like maybe 3rd party vendors may have some stuff but this is not good. Even during the worst days of the pandemic I could buy something in stock. Looks like the death rattle is happening at EVGA.
Mar 30, 2024 12:36:22 GMT -5
zila1: I was just at EVGA website. Was looking around for a power supply. Tick the in stock items and everything disappeared. Nothing in stock. Looked at motherboards. Tick for in stock items and shows nothing in stock.

zila1: You're right Jon. I sat her down on my 3950X build and she can't tell the difference. On her new 2700X build she says the desktop is super fast. So another happy camper. It feels good to do something nice for my little sister. Happier than a pig in shit.
