I am not buying it that the most notorious overclockers have silently ( more or less ) quit HWBOT for reasons other than those huge scandals.
Anyway, this is not news for me and to be totally honest I do not even raise an eyebrow. A lot worse has happened in the recent past.
Shame, yes surely, but since there is no alternative and if you want your personal fun to be posted somewhere in the web, keep doing what you do.

I do have though to say something for the chief moderator of HWBOT.
He likes to present a profile about himself as the savior of HWBOT.
With a dictator like attitude in most cases, he wants the members to believe that he is the soul sent from God to solve the issues of the site.
A site which has its end time written on the wall.
Truth is, that at least four vendors, send him free of charge any new top end HW. This is tens of thousands of dollars on an annual basis. Verified.
I do not know, neither can I suggest if he is bribed or not.
In any case he is not the kind soul he wants us to believe and there is certainly strong financial motivation for keeping doing what he does.
A sad figure.

My only comment:
Smart guys already know how it works. We have a couple guys here that could easily have been contenders, but are smart enough to know that
the 'handpicked' sponsored finalists will prevail.
If you know that going in, you are already ahead of the game.
Apply your effort into just having fun with your hobby. You will be far happier.

My only comment: Smart guys already know how it works. We have a couple guys here that could easily have been contenders, but are smart enough to know that the 'handpicked' sponsored finalists will prevail. If you know that going in, you are already ahead of the game. Apply your effort into just having fun with your hobby. You will be far happier. 110% correct. Wherever there is free food, there are 1000 dogs burking to devaur it. We see a lot more dirt ( A LOT ) everyday in our business lives. We do not need this kind of crap. Not in W9. Move on and have fun folks. This is only what it matters. |

Kind of the reason I stopped really participating back in 2010/11 (I think, might have been earlier).. the rules pages were not the "official rules" and one had to knead through hundreds of threads to really find them... I didn't know this. spend $$$ on a DICE pot and a few weekends of starting extreme... every sub was flagged and removed because of a change in the screenwhots requirements... I had a screenie of the rules and was told I was still wrong...
After that I really had a F-it attitude towards the bot... so I only participated in comps run in house or by fair neighbouring forums... just for Fun....

Yep - And I'll add these are just promotional "Things" they do and the sponsors WANT their guys to be at the top so their names are out there. If one of us were to compete, we've be found in violation of sooooooo many comp rules and get kicked out of it too. And don't think I haven't noticed that a certain gambling service/site is still linked in with rankings of all the guys too - Somebody gotta be getting paid over that.  |
