Long time PC enthusiast, Minor Overclocker and just like having fun tinkering with PC's among the many other things I enjoy. My latest thing is trying to get 4x1GB DDR400 sticks of OCZ Plat's to show in Memtest86 so I can run and test all sticks of ram as well as have Win 7 x64 show all 4096MB of ram. I already have a couple of threads running about the subject on other forums atm so won't bother posting about it here unless y'all insist on it. Glad to be a part of this community and hope to meet some new and cool peeps over here

Good to see you here - Now get Hue in and it's a party! BTW anyone heard from him lately? I hope he's doing OK.
Yes - We insist on you posting about it! Nothing like a challenge to help keep the cheese on the 'ol cracker.

Hue is alive and well. Communicate with him periodically from time to time.

Welcome to the forum! For 4GB to be seen you need two things - 64-bit CPU+OS (as I see you have that) AND memory remap feature. It's a feature of memory controller (CPU if it's AMD64 or chipset for socket A or Intel). For example, i865/875 series don't have it so you're limited to 3,25GB even with a 64-bit CPU. I you create a thread, poke me

I you create a thread, poke me He's got a DFI with an Athlon64 I believe, not sure if he's put an x2 in there yet or not. He's turned on the memory hole, as far as I know and he's still having issues. He says BIOS is recognizing all 4GB, but it says 4GB installed and only 2GB usable or something like that (both in BIOS and Windows). I haven't seen his screens, so IDK for sure, just trying to go off memory from the conversations on Steam I've had with him about it. But I am not familiar enough with DFI's to be of much advice, all my 939 boards are Asus. Also, Hi N2!

I do have 4 threads running about it now this being a 5th if you want to include this one but this is just my intro thread so I won't count it. Here is the link to the other thread about it posted on this board. ---> warp9-systems.proboards.com/thread/1849/memtest86-4gb-ram-dfi-board
