Have a i7 two core sandy in a Dell laptop that decided to have a problem a few weeks ago, got it going again but decided to replace it. After looking at laptops & all-in-ones figured building something would be a better idea, don't like working on laptops fingers are too fat.
Chosen parts
Case = Vetroo M01 Compact Micro / Mini ATX
CPU = AMD Ryzen 7 5700G
MB = ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS WIFI II
RAM = Patriot Viper Steel 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600
HD = Western Digital WD_BLACK SN770 M.2 2280 1TB PCIe Gen4
PS = CORSAIR RMx Series RM550x, CP-9020197-NA
AIO = NZXT Kraken X53 240mm - RL-KRX53-01
Extra Fans = Phanteks T30-120 Fan Triple-Pack
Fan Controller = Phanteks Universal Fan Controller, PH-PWHUB_02
OS = Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-bit - OEM
OD = Pioneer USB 3.0 Slim Portable BD/DVD/CD Burner Model BDR-XD07B
Problems
Upon loading OS using drivers supplied in the MB box lost connection to the monitor, second OS install loaded WIFI drivers only, downloaded drivers off of the AMD site lost connection to the monitor, W10 same thing happened. Installed a VGA loaded W11 everything worked without a problem using the DVI port on the card, tried a Display port cable to the MB port, no problem, switched to the HDMI cable used on the first three attempts lost the monitor. Replaced the HDMI cable all is working.
RAM got lost for a while, 10 days late, coming from Newegg east coast, UPS to USPS delivery.
M2 only runs at Gen 3 speed due to the G series CPU.
Overall
Case was a little bigger than expected, replaced the 200mm RGB fan with the AIO fans. All five fans in the case are connected to the fan controller and connected to one fan header on the board for control. Sync'd to the laptop so have all my password in two locations now. As this is to be used for my connection to the outside, hopefully added enough to keep it viable for more than a few years into the future.
