What the fuck? Insane that any company is allowed to essentially blackmail opinions. "Policy error" yeah right. I hate how people are.

Little late to the game on this, saw the story last week too.
I'd be dropping my account right now in a heartbeat, except I still have a credit line through paypal. -_- Absolutely disgusting what they're pulling. And I thought it was bad when Fakebook was paying people to leave during the election because of "wrong think". This is beyond that, this is a financial institution that's issuing illegal "fines". There's no way these new "TOS" that they've implemented would EVER actually stand up in a court of law.....but who's going to challenge them when you're fined $2500?
I don't even care what side politically somebody is on. This is wrong. Period.

I was banned from paypal about 10 years ago, this is not news to me. why was I banned? someone they said I knew owed them 8$ they would not tell me who. They ended up banning all my neighbors and family too. Paypal is full of crazy stores like this, Look up the 6 month holds they put on funds when a account is banned. And folks that got banned for making to much to fast or selling items paypal see as risky. Payapl is not a bank so they can do crap like this.
I'd be dropping my account right now in a heartbeat, except I still have a credit line through paypal. paypal credit line is not reported.

Still need to close my PayPal account myself but the one bank account I had linked to PayPal is closed and the info they had on it is expired anyway - No way I'm updating it or creating another one for "Them".
Go woke, go broke.

Go woke, go broke. Why would having a old bank on file be a problem with deleting the account?

It's through Synchrony Bank. I'm sure if I quit paying it, there'd be a ding on my credit. I wish I didn't have to with their new terms, but I also want a house sometime in the near future.

Except its clearly listed on my credit report as SYNC / PPC, and is counted as a line of credit...... This is per Credit Karma, so of course, grain of salt and all that. Still, if its listed on Credit Karma as a line of credit, the dollar figures are correct, I'm not going to take chances whether I hate Paypal or not. Home ownership is more important to me than Paypal's stupid terms, I'll just quit using it and pay it off.
