I am working on an EVGA SR-2 dual socket project that started when I got it in a semi-mystery buy locally. I picked up a big PC locally that I only knew had a gtx 480, two CPUs, and 32gb of ddr3, all for $50. I got it home and opened it up to find an SR-2, two noctua dual 120mm fan CPU coolers, and enough PCIe slots to hold every spare graphics card I have. I want to, if possible, find a rough estimate of the original price of the computer in 2010-2012, when whoever owned it before likely built it, and what it would cost to build it with the parts I upgraded it to when they were new. Here are my guesses and specs: My current guess of when I got it:
EVGA SR-2 motherboard - $600
GTX 480 - $500
Dual Xeon X5620 CPUs - $700
Noctua CPU coolers (unknown) - unknown
Thermaltake 1200w Power Supply (W0156RU) - $297
Lian Li PC-P80 - $379.99
Crucial RealSSD C300 (CTFDDAC256MAG-1G1) - $759
Seagate 240gb Hard Drive (ST3250824AS) - $100?
24GB HyperX 4gb DDR3 (HX318C10FBK2/8) Memory - $200?
My current guesses after my upgrades: EVGA SR-2 motherboard - $600
GTX 480 - $500
Dual Xeon X5687 CPUs - $3300
Noctua CPU coolers (unknown) - unknown
Thermaltake 1200w Power Supply (W0156RU) - $297
Lian Li PC-P80 - $379.99
Crucial RealSSD C300 (CTFDDAC256MAG-1G1) - $759
Seagate 240gb Hard Drive (ST3250824AS) - $100?
80GB ECC SK Hynix RAM (HMT31GR7BFR4C-H9) - unknown
Any help is greatly appreciated, and feel free to ask any questions!

Nice deal. Coolers were about 70 bucks a piece.

I can't really help you with the pricing. SR-2's were always too rich for my blood, still are actually. Just wanted to say, WOW what a deal you scored.

oh my.I do not want to think of how many $ I have spent on personal IT equipment and for the family.New things, broken things, but that is another story.
I am a bit slow, but did that machine run as it was, when you "popped" the hood ? Or are you going to re build?

Will it even recognize the 80GB of ECC memory? I thought that MB could only operate at a max of 48GB (24GB/CPU socket)?

it worked great actually even with the GTX 480, which I was really happy with. Everything was pretty dust free and in amazing condition

Vin It officially only supports 48gb, but according to other forums that was because 8gb sticks of DDR3 didn't exist at the time that the manual was written. I had an issue where it wouldn't boot in most configurations above 48gb with the e5620s, but it worked fine after a BIOS update and CPU upgrade.
