Testing Socket 754 & Socket 939 Boards

Hey guys

Finaly getting around to overclocking some of the older stuff , Have picked up a few Boards and CPUs and RAM

Looking to Find max REF Freq and maybe some Benches on Air with TCCD

754 and 939 is rare as heck here.

& 5KG Of unbinned DDR 256mb-1GB inc... Infineon, Winbond CH6 , Micron , Random Stuff

Binned some of the RAM on the A8N-E , Bios is nice to work with Best TCCD Kit did C2.5-3-3-8 2.7v 600Mhz Corsair XL on Brainpower ..idk but personaly i think that is pretty strong TCCD (Validated 680Mhz c3 on the bot). i Boot 1 stick test in memtest then in OS with 32m.

Board is so good that im considering picking up another that i saw for sale. I paid 2 Euro for the board from some seccond hand shop online auction. Does 3v max on memory so is proably not sutible for some Chips.

Have been doing all the testing with a 3700+ San Deigo that does decent clocks at 1.5v 3ghz+, Board has strange issues with multi at high fsb. Uneven multt needs Uneven FSB and vice versa. eg can boot 4x 386FSB

have done some validations this week here are the results for the boards ive tested so far , im kinda impressed with the results since i have not touched this platform in a long long while

AN8-E - 390.53 FSB

AN8-SLI SE 410.25 FSB

Epox - 380.76 FSB

Biostar - 269 FSB

Both Asus were nice to work with , Epox had a tricky bios that i didnt understand much had some weird Behaviour and im unsure what board it is since the sticker says its a non ultra but the other sticker says ultra. chipset says Nforce 4 No ultra branding??? idk honestly. Biostar is held back by the bios 250 fsb max in bios anything over 270 crashes.

Looking to overclock the DFI now , dont have a lot of chips for 754 only Venice and Newcastle chips , Will be benching with TCCD

Cant seem to get past the Nvidia Raid prompt after bios Splash after 270 FSB even tho RAID is off??? Using IDE to Sata Adapter has worked with the other board so dont see it being the issue.

Hope to bench Socket 423 in the future i just recapped DFI 815 Board but no OC Options in the bios

815 is a socket 370 chipset. Socket 423 should be i850/845 and 845 is SDRAM which is not the best choice for 423.

Both boards I have are RD-RAM
