Due to retiring my XH IV Formula, felt tempted to look around for another Ryzen build. Also to keep up with the W11 requirements Found a very "economical" choice with an Athlon 3000G, however that was out of stock&EOL when I tried to place the order. Soo, the next best choice was a Ryzen 5 5600G. The motherboard had good reviews and the price was just over 30€, so I pulled the trigger. Three year warranty. Ryzen 5 5600G 2x8GB Kingston Fury Beast 3200Mhz LiteOn 128GB SSD Corsair CX600 Akasa Performance Sunflower cooler
Gigabyte's Q-flash Plus was needed and useful, as the board had an older BIOS and would not POST w. this CPU. Need to have a decent USB stick though.
Up and running with W10 Pro. Likely will be a future workshop workhorse. The BIOS does have some OC options, but felt no need to tinker with that now. The APP center works without hick-ups.

Thanks Shrimp. I have not tried out any iGPU intensive stuff on this yet, but from what I can read, it seem to kill my previous dog. It has been a long time since having a desktop in use with integrated graphics. The PSU and SSD is from the previous rig.

This one feels really snappy in web browsing and multimedia via the net, my previous build with the B550M + R5 3600 does not feel as fast in e.g boot up and likes, even it has nvme. However that one I already "lifted" to W11, will need to make some comparison bench. UEFI, GPT are set. PBO seem to work as intended at both units.

I'm glad it worked out this well. Made a short bench with CPU-Z, and result was just as I suspected. The R5 5600G beats the R5 3600 clearly.
Thought they'd be closer in performance. Perhaps some light OC "tuning" will up the R5 3600 a bit.

Ok, here goes the R5 5600G :
An Intel Core i7-11700 seem be quite close in performance, price(bang for buck) is of course different.
Here the R5 3600 w. B550M, w11 :

I should get one to upgrade the 2700x. Only cause it runs so damn hot.

Interestingly, power options in W11 have Ryzen choices.

Interestingly, power options in W11 have Ryzen choices. Yup because W10 came out in 2015, so AMD has had to make patches/drivers which were going to be implemented in latest OS
